LOL --- no rational person thinks that Ukraine will agree to cut off all their access to the sea -- especially after they have basically thwarted and beaten the Russian invaders at this point making Putin fail at achieving a single one of his military objectives including failing to capture & hold a major city in Ukraine.
For a second, I thought that looked exactly like what I had in mind too.
Except at a quick glance I thought all of the brown area was to be a NATO base.

Russia is not "negotiating". There are only surrender terms and the Ukrainians can either accept them or not.
The probably want to up their game in asymmetric threats against Russia for the negotiations. There is a dirty double cross coming, I feel it in my jellies.
A 2017 article, probably not based in fact, probably. Given the Kennedy era "bomb in the attic" of the Russian embassy story, it's not impossible given their woeful finances, desperate ideas to please Putin, they will believe it when told the same has been done to them.
