We will get to see his mandate pretty soon in Federal Court, if he produces it or folds.
If any of this is true, and Mueller ends up getting this case dismissed or loses outright - he'll get his ass fired pronto for it. Turley and Dershowitz both agree that this new information raises all sorts of fresh transparency and conflicts of interest issues for Mueller - and to a Federal Judge who sharply rebuked him last week for the exact same faults in the Manafort and the Russian Troll Farm cases.
Judge T.S. Ellis III smoked Mueller's ass last week about his lack of transparency, questionable tactics and motives. Mueller tried to get discovery limited - fail. Mueller tried to postpone the trial - fail.
And so at the next hearing Judge Ellis will certainly be confronted with this fresh round of transparency and conflict issues to be added to the list of Mueller's indictment woes.

At a minimum, this type of aggressive inquiry into Mueller is another sign of the anti-witchhunters going on the offensive against mueller rather than just defending themselves. The FBI may need to dish some things out, but they need to aggressively be put on the ropes themselves- and some of that is in fact happening. Same needs to happen with Mueller, and some of that is happening.

Yup, better than sex.
Mueller picked Flynn when he was down and out and without counsel and he caved. If he had adequate counsel and a war chest from donors he could have fended them off. I know he is still trying to unwind it and if his new judge is pissed enough he may get something out of it. But it is pretty far down the road at this point. On the other hand the new judge ordered prosecution to disclose all information that could even be remotely exculpatory given Muellers long history of hiding it. So even if the guilty plea cannot be undone at this point the judge can still take background info into account in sentencing. As I said, he got picked off when he was down and out. A couple good lawyers as mentioned above would have had a field day with what they had to work with.

Avenatti is a side show distraction. Manafort and Cohen getting indicted for money laundering and tax evasion is going to look ridiculous to the public if the Russian Troll Farming indictment gets dismissed or Mueller loses it outright.

And the media and the left are totally oblivious to date about how bad this is going for Mueller. Nothing has been settled - far from it. But a successful indictment for the cornerstone legal case with respect to your DOJ charter is anything but certain. A thin and weak Federal indictment, a skeptical judge, and a very competent and aggressive legal defense - I have to believe is scaring the living shit out of Mueller. I doubt he's sleeping well right now.
The goal should be to just keep Mueller rattled and show the public that even judges have problems with his actions and goals. The russian company case's judge has done that and so has Flynn's judge after the first one was removed. They dont like Muellers conduct regardless of whether the defendant is guilty or not.
Mueller can still get an indictment in the virginia russian company case even if the judge sets the indictment aside for defective pleading/charges because the Double Jeopardy Clause does not apply at the indictment level. So Mueller can take a hit from the judge and then go and tidy up the pleadings and charges to the jury and present it to another jury. Legally it can be done, but as discussed, it forces Mueller to show that he has a clown show in progress when he is trying extra-hard to be Mr. Scary Invincable. Mueller has a long, long way to go with lots of cases so stumbling out of the shoot is not the way to go. His specialty has always been to stumble on appeal- bigly.
If the judge reveals (or it is leaked) the redacted portions of Muellers authorization papers it will do more political damage to Mueller than what could be accomplished in some procedural skirmishing. Let's just say that when Rosenstein redacts something, it is not for national security purposes.
