Ok, Matthews said "born in Indonesia" in 2011 and that is interesting. Why he said it is a fair question. Probably discussed to death already but I'll try and get my remaining brain cell to task.

There is a rather labyrinthine explanation of conspiracy to defame by defense, a spontaneous brain-fart of Matthews with no provenance (meant Hawaii / said Indonesia?) or perhaps Matthews slipped up repeating something that was then floating in some circles (beyond Obama is a secret Muslim).

Obama being a secret Muslim clearly had an origin in 2004 with an opponent but it is such an obvious one.. My first though when I heard that a Barrack Hussein Obama was is he a Muslim? Muslims assumed he was a Muslim. The Manchurian Candidate has everyone alert for such.

Likewise its not a huge stretch, though some as he was already a senator, given his somewhat itinerant childhood for there to be multiple, independent origins for the born abroad theory.

I've done some digging this morning on this Matthews' comment but must fly to Ireland again so over the weekend.
