(CNN) "Fox News analyst Monica Crowley, Donald Trump's pick to be senior director of strategic communications for the National Security Council, repeatedly pushed an unfounded conspiracy theory that claimed Hillary Clinton's aide Huma Abedin has ties to Islamic extremists.

"The claim, which circulated among far-right websites, has been labeled as false and unfounded by fact-checkers from the Washington Post, Politifact, and Snopes.

"Claims Abedin was tied to the Muslim Brotherhood are based on flimsy connections tying together people and events from decades ago. Crowley made the charge in radio appearances, columns, and on Fox News over the years, a CNN KFile review found.

"The claims have also been strongly rebutted by high profile Republicans. Former House Speaker John Boehner called the accusations "pretty dangerous" and then-House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Rogers called Abedin an "American patriot." The allegations received a passionate rebuke from Republican Sen. John McCain on the Senate floor.

"Still, Crowley pushed it repeatedly. An email seeking comment sent to a Trump transition spokesperson, Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn, and Crowley was not immediately returned."

Since libtards think it is a good strategy to call anything they disagree with fake news, I guess you are fine with the possibility in the future of a republican being the judge of what is fake and real news?

The White House has the temerity to say crap like this:

" Josh Earnest is Obama’s press secretary and speaks for him. Here’s some fake news from his lips: “Mr. Trump obviously knew that Russia was engaged in malicious cyber activity that was helping him, [and] hurting [Democrat Hillary] Clinton … These are all facts that are not in dispute.”"

I want the the White House flagged at Facebook as a fake news operation.

I get all sorts of "News" popping up in my Facebook feed. Including news from the New York Times and other mainstream media outlets. It's not like I am subscribed to any of these.

Maybe it is time to start marking all the news stories being pushed by the New York Times and other media outlets as fake news including all the crap from Krugman.

I was opened minded on the idea that perhaps Huma does talk to her family and this article would have some proof she was not a security risk.

Then was saw the fallacious appeal to the worlds dumbest authority... John McCain. A "passionate rebuke" from McCain oh boy... that must be serious.

I could not be laughing harder and Andrew Kaczynski. This is the definition of fake journalism and what is wrong with mass media.

Lets say there was no question about Huma's patriotism. Would you ever resort to appealing to John McCain?

I would like to see it dimantled. They constantly meddle, outside the country, on behalf of WHO?

Then we're told there are agents risking there lives every day to collect intelligence?

My thought is that anyone who gambles with his/her own life at any time, let alone daily, is a gambler, and will gamble with your life too.

And now, they have a green light to run propaganda inside the country? On behalf of WHO?

Absurd.

Unless we have declared war, I don't see any honor in gambling ones life SPYING in other countries.

Let the spys honor themselves, and let US simply protect ourselves by retiring spys and spying, and use weapons of war only in a war against a declared enemy.
