That's what's so funny.
If someone could prove the Russians hacked Podesta's emails and released them, I could actually accept the statement that "The Russians influenced the election."
Then we could move on to the real funny stuff which is more about the content. If you tell the police about an illegal activity which you learned of illegally, they still arrest the people who committed the crime.

The election was close in the battleground states, less than a percentage point difference. And we saw Hillary's numbers decline after Comey's fake revelation (a decline you celebrated, remember?). Add in Russian hacking of the DNC, wikileaks one-sided releases, and it's easy to believe public opinion moved a percentage point to Drumpf's favor. Nate Silver has already confirmed this. As for, "the Russians showed how dirty the DNC selection process is", sure, but you can also be sure that with 17 candidates the RNC selection process was just as dirty. And why do you think Reince people-just-don't-care Priebus is denying the RNC was hacked? Because if it was, then the one-sided nature of the releases is that much clearer.
the podesta emails most damaging comments were...
1. the astro turf movement to subvert the teachings of the Catholic Church. Catholic leaders tend to be democrats and pro immigrant. But... Obama team attempting to force Church groups to provide abortificients was just too much. Then when podesta's email showed that dems were creating astro turf to subvert the church... that was the straw the broke the support. The sunday before the election... Many priests around the country gave homilies about the barbaric acts of and ramifications of abortion. Some explained that you can't vote for evil even if you like their immigration plan.
Podesta's emails showed many Catholic Priests and leaders that at the core Dem leaders were evil sobs who would destroy the Catholic Church to win.
I suspect those homilies caused a lot of Catholics particularly devote hispanic Catholics to change their votes. Obamacare and Podesta permanently alienated a lot of priests and Bishops... I don't see anyone explaining that in the Press. why not?
2. proof that hillary had a public position and a private position on issues like TPP... as Trump stated in the debate. I am sure that was the final straw for jobs voters.
So yes... I think the wikileaks email had an influence on the voters.
But... that was not hacking the election. That was influencing the election. (as Tsing said above)
