Russia can decide to escalate crazy and attack any eastern European NATO member promising immediate nuclear strike and I'm sure US will not get involved. NATO is completely useless in this situation.
But it will likely bring long term peace because US provoking likely will stop.
It's not guaranteed but very likely

Russia is done it's a bankrupt country. It will fall apart into many new nations. I can't wait until Chechens start taking out Russian soldiers again like the old 90s videos.
