Biden admits Ukraine is losing bad, in 'dire straits'

What Biden is doing is politics.

UA can fight on its own (e.g. in December they produced 50 000 drones), but it will cost far more human lives. And they likely won't be able to retake the territories occupied by Russia now that it is one big minefield without US advanced weapons support. The unfortunate truth is indeed the US has been the biggest backer in absolute terms even as certain EU countries, e.g. the Baltic countries, have given more on a per capita level (whereas on the other hand other most countries in the EU should be doing more, and that arguably includes my own country Sweden, NATO ascension stalls aside).

Moscow's artillery system losses in Ukraine will soon hit 10,000, according to Kyiv, whose estimate follows criticism from Russia's defense minister about his country's weapons manufacturers missing production and delivery deadlines.

Ukraine's armed forces said Thursday that Russia had lost 24 artillery systems over the previous 24 hours, taking the total losses for such equipment to 9,411 since the launch of Vladimir Putin's full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022.
