Russia & Ukraine

It's interesting how propaganda works -in reality all horrors in the last year ukrainians experience is direct results of USA war crimes

politcs threads are quite interesting to check IQ levels and critical thinking ability.
Neigboring thread about hunter biden is full of current pro ukrainian posters who argued that's was all russian disinformation

now they look complete idiots, although it was clear from the very beginning story was geniune. Exgoper looks particularly clownish

Now you have exposed corrupt president who took bribes from ukrainians and corrupt media which lied you for many years.

still in your world picture you have zero doubt - ukrainians are good and Biden fights evil

and zero doubt story might be tinted

There is an entire thread dedicated to documenting the monstrous scope of Russian War Crimes.

Ukraine launches new push

Ukraine launched a major new push in its counteroffensive against Russia.
The assault included troops held in reserve, reinforced with tanks, and could last one to three weeks, U.S. officials told The New York Times. Russian officials similarly described a “massive” push by Ukrainian forces. The latest campaign comes with concerns that Kyiv’s counteroffensive — which was heavily touted in advance — is struggling to make sufficient ground, hampered by Russian-installed obstacles as well as Ukraine’s own limits of manpower and materiel. “This is the big test,” an American official told The Times. Moscow, meanwhile, continued an aerial campaign against Ukraine’s port infrastructure with overnight attacks.

Russia abruptly fired a front-line general, and now Ukraine is seizing the moment to punch through the defenses he had overseen

  • Ukraine appears to have launched a major attack in the southern Zaporizhzhia region.
  • The surge, reported on by media and officials, marks a dramatic escalation of Kyiv's counteroffensive.
  • Ukrainian forces had been conserving combat power as they navigated through Russian minefields.

US-Saudi talks advance

Saudi Press Agency/Handout via REUTERS

U.S. President Joe Biden’s national security adviser met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman amid reports that Biden is considering a momentous deal with Riyadh. According to The New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, who cited a recent interview with the president, Washington and Riyadh are discussing an agreement that would see Saudi Arabia and Israel normalize ties in return for, among other things, a NATO-like mutual security pact between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia — the first time Washington has made such a guarantee to a non-democracy since the Korean War. Though some details of the discussions have been reported previously, including by Semafor, the attribution to Biden indicates the talks are increasingly advanced.

Putin offers free grain to African countries

Russian President Vladimir Putin promised free grain to six African countries, part of efforts to boost ties with the continent after Moscow withdrew from the Black Sea grain deal. Putin’s offer, made at a Russia-Africa summit in St. Petersburg, was dismissed by the U.N. Secretary-General, who warned that a “handful of donations to some countries” wouldn’t alleviate the impact of rising food prices resulting from Moscow leaving the Black Sea deal, which allowed Ukraine to export its harvest. Western officials, meanwhile, pointed out that African attendance at this year’s summit was markedly lower than prior meetings. “It shows that some African leaders are worried about the optics,” a European diplomat told Politico.

Kremlin pushes new propaganda

A leaked document offered insight into the Kremlin’s propaganda efforts over its war in Ukraine.
The instructions for state outlets outline how they should cover today’s Baptism of Rus anniversary, which Moscow sees as a crucial moment in the conversion of what became Russia to Christianity, telling them to refer to it as the “point of formation of Russia’s statehood,” according to Meduza, which obtained the document. It tells outlets to claim that “adversaries of Russia” resided in Ukraine, Belarus, and Poland. “Today our country is battling a new satanic regime,” it continued, before making clear that Russian President Vladimir Putin should “be linked to every development, so that his name is constantly being heard.”
