I have the same empathy for them as I have for Nazi soldiers in WWII. That is, not much.

They are not complaining that they are sent to murder people who did nothing to them or to their country. They are complaining that they are not given enough equipment to do the murdering more efficiently and without danger to themselves.

The sooner they are killed off, the better.

I would be lying to ya if I said I did not have some generic sympathy for those pathetic bastards. They are in service to their country however pathetic it is. And they are fighting not only the enemy but their own command. Man, that sucks.

That being said, the world is not running a counseling program for Russian solidiers.

Their way out is to surrender or be killed. Reaching the Ukrainian lines alive to surrender is dangerous but not as dangerous as not trying. Hopefully the Ukrainians will continue to probe more ways to show them how to surrender. Sounds like the number who want a ticket out is growing daily. These guys are still doing a last gasp attempt to get the attention of Moscow and somehow they are going to intervene. But you can see that even though they are in a trance state, they see that if hoping for Russian/Moscow command to help them is all they got going for them that they will be dead within ten days.

Those guys need to surrender. Their government wants them to die for Russia, but they are dying from corruption on the front lines. Paying to not be sent deeper into the front lines? Ahh, no. No shame in surrendering. And kill the commanders who were demanding payment as you leave.

It is misplaced. They were not mobilized under the gun. Few people outside Russia know it, but they could have refused, with nothing more than a fine as punishment. They went because they WANTED to.
