Russia & Ukraine

i get a certain feeling ...

Such a shame. Maybe Putin should avoid violently invading democratic sovereign nations; that would fix his 'nervous' problems.

‘Nervous’ Putin Faces Mutiny: Doomed Troops Refuse To Be ‘Sent To Slaughter’ — As Battle For Power Splits Russian Forces

There is a growing air of discontentment among the Russian forces with frontline soldiers refusing to fight without proper equipment.

Reports from Russian troops across the country claim officers refer to them them as "cannon fodder" and "meat" and expect them to assault Ukrainian positions without artillery or heavy gun support.

Small clips of soldiers complaining have gone viral on the internet, with large groups of troops from Kaliningrad and Irkutsk expressing their discontent directly to their commanders.

In the Kaliningrad video, the soldiers questioned Putin's war while the Irkutsk troops challenged their orders to assault fortified positions without artillery or heavy gun support.

The troops also expressed their distress over witnessing the senseless deaths of enormous numbers of their compatriots in the war against Ukraine.

Senior officers denied the troops' claims, stating that all proper equipment has been made available for the soldiers on the frontline.

While the discontent among Russian forces has been attributed to a lack of proper weapons and support, some observers suggest that mounting civilian casualties and deteriorating human rights situations, such as in the Donbas, may be worsening morale.

The videos come amidst news of intense fighting between pro-Russian and Ukrainian forces and the eruption of a new wave of violence in Eastern Ukraine.

The region has experienced constant conflict for more than a year now, with major escalations in hostilities in recent months.

Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of Wagner Group, has publicly supported the troops' claims of insufficient equipment.

Rumored to be interested in Putin's job, Prigozhin complained on social media that his phones have been cut off, signaling a strained relationship with Putin.

In a recent Telegram update, he stated, "In order for me to stop asking for ammunition, I have had all special communication phones in all offices, in all units, switched off," as reported by The Express.

The ongoing crisis in Eastern Ukraine, including the increasing casualties and war crimes, is having a significant impact on the mental and physical well-being of Russian forces.

The notion of being deployed to the frontline without proper equipment is worsening this impact, leading to further damage to the already fragile troop morale, and potentially creating a conducive environment for mutiny.

Hypothetically you are clueless. In reality you are a vatnik who should report to the recruiting center. Here is your golden opportunity to walk your talk.

Prigozhin needs some fresh meat. He is no longer allowed to recruit from prisons while recruiting from psychiatric wards has not been fruitful. He needs to replace his mercenary force in Ukraine which basically has been eliminated while being used as cannon fodder.

Wagner group announces opening recruitment centers in 42 Russian cities

The head of the Russian mercenary group Wagner, who has been entangled in a power struggle with the defense ministry, announced Friday the opening of recruitment centers in dozens of cities.

Wagner has been spearheading offensives against cities in eastern Ukraine including Bakhmut, in what has become the longest and bloodiest fight of Russia’s year-long assault. Both sides have suffered heavy losses around Bakhmut.

“Recruitment centers for PMC Wagner have opened in 42 Russian cities,” Wagner chief Yevgeny Prigozhin said in a statement, referring to his private military company.

Fighters will be recruited in sports centers and martial arts clubs, according to a list released by Prigozhin.

“Despite the colossal resistance of the Ukrainian armed forces, we will move forward,” the 61-year-old pro-Kremlin businessman said.

He also alluded to the apparent pressure of the Russian defense ministry.

“Despite the spanners that they are throwing in the works at every move, we will overcome this together,” he said.

Prigozhin had for months recruited prison inmates, promising amnesty upon their return to Russia if they survived the fighting in Ukraine.

But in early February he said the recruitment from prisons had ended, apparently under pressure from the defense ministry.

Tensions between Prigozhin and the defense ministry have raged for months.

Prigozhin has several times claimed battlefield victories ahead of Russia’s army, criticized Russia’s top brass and accused the military of not sharing ammunition with his ragtag forces.

Sanctioned by Washington and Brussels, Prigozhin had for years operated in the shadows but has been thrown into the limelight since the start of the offensive in Ukraine.

Let's take a look at the author, George D. O’Neill, Jr.

Russian spy Maria Butina was indicted on July 17, 2018 on charges of acting as a foreign agent in the United States without providing proper notification to the Attorney General. GOP operative/NRA representative Paul Erickson, identified as “U.S. Person 1” in court documents, was Butina’s chief co-conspirator in a multi-year “covert influence operation” aimed at winning establishment GOP support for Vladimir Putin’s foreign policy goals vis-a-vis the United States. That operation relied on support from both NRA leaders and organizers with the National Prayer Breakfast.
