War correspondent Alexander Sladkov (left) said during a live broadcast on the state TV channel Rossiya 1 that the military is “losing a huge number of people.”

The journalist immediately realized his blunder and scrambled to walk it back by saying, “We’re having great successes, we’re having great successes, but we’re not…”

Struggling to finish his thought, the panicked correspondent tried to pivot the conversation toward Russia’s use of long-range aviation and recent strikes targeting Ukraine’s energy sector.

“But once again, we didn’t finish the job … what are the people saying? ‘We’re winning on points. But we’d like a knockout,'” he concluded.

The world saw Biden celebrating a victory over inflation yesterday while in the split screen the market was tanking and fugly inflation data was being reported.

Yeh, CNN could have handled that job where the Russian reporter failed.

I post this knowing that it may or may not be true. Give it a little time.

Wow... if true -- it is quite a mess --- and would lead to a further crackdown by Putin.

Don't put it past Putin that this event was staged theater to allow him to crackdown.

You don't have to believe anything, if you don't believe that they have a shit load of nukes, then that's your problem, deal with it.

We haven't heard from @Master Pu for a few days. Did he lose his job at the Kremlin troll farm with all the recent setbacks? I know that the economy is tough in St. Petersburg, but 5 rubles is 5 rubles.

Let's do a quick comparison of Zelensky and Putin...

Whew, the Russians here are trapped but are afraid to flee because they think/know that the Ukrainians have planted mines around them. Man, that adds a whole new meaning to being "trapped like a rat."

Getting to be time to shoot the officers and surrender. Most likely the officers left long ago anyway.

Russian Soldier Tells Dad Troops Have 'Nowhere to Run' as Ukraine Advances

A transcript and audio of the conversation recorded at an unspecified date was posted on YouTube by the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine's Defense Ministry. A translation conducted by The Daily Beast revealed an angst-ridden son who surprised his father by saying the Russians are "losing" in the region.

"I'm telling you, seriously, you know how many injured we have? ... We have nowhere to run," the soldier said. "They just keep advancing, advancing, advancing."

After telling his father that mortar fire has been ineffective against Ukrainian personnel, the soldier said that his "surrounded" unit hasn't fled because mines likely were planted on their escape route.

"That's why we're here for now," he said.

Russian officers do have a way of sneaking out when no one is looking. Funny how that works.
