Russia & Ukraine

There are two major rail lines leading down into that whole donbass and south region now occupied by the Russians.

Most of the bridges on those rail lines are still up and are supplying the Russians.

This article makes the same point I made earlier today: ie the Ruskies are dependent on a couple key rail lines coming into the donbas and south area.

It would be really nice to see the bridges taken out on those lines either by plane, missile, internal sabotage, whatever. That would be a beautiful thing to see. The Ukrainians - with better missiles- are taking out ammo supply depots left and right. Be nice to see them stop being resupplied- or at least make it more difficult by taking out the rail line- the bridges being the weakest links in the chain. I guess the Ukrainians have started taking some out versus none for a long time. So that is for the good. Ramp that up somehow. Not necessary for me or the world to know how.

Putin facing logistical nightmare as Russia failings exposed: ‘No army is this backwards'

RUSSIA's "backwards" military is leading to logistical nightmares for Vladimir Putin as frontline supplies are being delivered and unloaded by hand in a remarkable revelation.

The critic continued by saying Russia is relying heavily on railroad systems in order to deliver ammunition and supplies to the front line.

Ukraine has reacted to the obvious pattern by destroying railway bridges and tracks in an effort to frustrate Russian supplies.

Continuing his argument, Mr Theiner said: “So dependent are the Russians on railways that they have 28,500 railway troops tasked with repairing and building railways.

“When Russia's military can't access railways then its entire logistics system collapses.”

Nearly no one comes back alive from battalion of short term contract "volunteers".

Russian volunteers sent on 'one-way mission' as Putin's country faces losses in Ukraine
Ukrainian military officials believe 36,000 Russian troops have died in the war, leaving Moscow desperate. It is believed new recruits have been lured with short-term contracts

Russia is sending a ragtag “suicide battalion” of former police, sailors, reservists and volunteers into the bloody Ukraine invasion.

The hastily recruited mob replaces a section of Moscow’s invasion force almost entirely massacred early in the war.

Out of 648 troops from the 200th Motorised Rifle Brigade, 645 were killed.

Just three men returned home, two wounded, from the bungled operation.

It is believed the recruits have been lured with short-term contracts.

One western source told the Daily Mirror: “This is more like a suicide battalion. They are likely to be sent into the grinding battle in the east.”

Ukrainian military officials believe 36,000 Russian troops have died in the war, leaving Moscow desperate.

Bruce Jones, an expert on Russia ’s military, said: “For many volunteering this will amount to a one-way ticket. The recruiters and trainers know this.”

He said volunteers will be “desperate for cash, barely suitable and poorly equipped”.

It comes after Russian President Vladimir Putin ’s hollow congratulations to troops after taking Lysychansk, marking Moscow’s domination of the Luhansk region. It leaves just Donetsk as the remaining Donbas region Russia is eyeing.

But one adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky vowed: “This is their last victory on Ukrainian territory.

It will be interesting to see how this vast number of ammo depots being blown up plays out in the coming days. I mean those ammo depots are not just root cellars for their potatoes and beets. That is where they keep the ammo that is feeding the front line.

I am sort of stating the obvious here but think about it. You have trucks and armored vehicles running back and forth between the front lines and those depots and the ammo -whether howitzer or basic bullets- is being consumed furiously. So if you take out a dozen ammo depots in a short period of time- which seems like what has been happening- then what? You are a tank commander or an infantry officer and your unit is used to being supplied by ammo depots x,y,z and you find out they were blown up in the last three days and all of your ammo is now just a puff of smoke. Now what? Yeh, going to have some impact, on the front lines which is what it is all about.

All of those troops, the ukrainians as well, have to calculate their burn rates for ammo and missiles and make adjustments based on probable supply. Let's just say the Russians need to rework their numbers a little going into the next week. If they have plans B and C. Then fine. But planning is not really their strong point.

Russia seems to have quite the problem in not paying what they promised their mercenaries and soldiers -- nor providing medical care for the wounded. Even as they are desperate for more men.

"Four Russian soldiers have released videos from Chechnya about their negative experiences following six weeks of fighting in Ukraine."

"One complained that a local hospital refused to remove pieces of shrapnel that was in his body while Nikolai Lipa spoke of being denied a promised sum of $2,000 (£1,669)."

Russia ‘desperate for more men’ as suspicions of a national draft for Ukraine war increase
RUSSIA is "desperate for more men" to fight in Ukraine and launches a "stealth mobilisation" with cash rewards to gain recruits amid concerns of a national draft.
