Russian troops headed by Vladimir Putin are set to go to court to challenge an illegal order for them to fight in the war against Ukraine.

A total of 25 national guards “refuseniks”, who report directly to Putin, are demanding their job back after they were fired for defying commanders’ orders to send them to a foreign war.

The Vladikavkaz garrison military court is due to start considering their lawsuit on Thursday said lawyer and human rights campaigner Pavel Chikov.

They aim to prove that their dismissal was “illegal” since it was based on their refusal to enter Ukraine.

The “refuseniks” were ordered to enter Ukraine early on in the war to keep order in Ukrainian cities.

At the time, the Kremlin believed that victory would be swift and locals would surrender to Russian troops but many died, with the true figure not yet public.

The case comes at a time when reports of open dissent in Russia are increasing, even among those in uniform.

Hundred of guards from at least 17 cities have sought legal advice and aim to follow in the footsteps of the 25 national guards who have already launched their case.

The servicemen are challenging Putin’s commander to the North Caucasian District to the National Guard Troops, Lt-Gen Sergey Zakharov.

Lawyers from a number of other cities and regions are working on more cases, including Krasnodar, Nalchik, Cherkessk, Samara, Moscow region, Veliky Novgorod, Simferopol, Novocherkassk, Vladivostok, Stavropol, Abakan, Pskov, Orenburg, Ulan-Ude, Petersburg, and Smolensk.

There's been a number of reports of Putin facing dissent from supporters including hardline senior figures in the military who have been left furious saying he has not gone far enough in the ongoing war.

According to a report, they blame Putin for the “serious error” of retreating from the Ukrainian capital Kyiv, instead of storming it and are enraged by his decision to concentrate on a more limited war, focusing on the Donbas, instead of the entirety of Ukraine.

That's what we need, a war inside of Russia between Russians. If it escalates enough Putin will lose control. What is good is the fact that in all levels FSB, GRU, army...) there are more and more people revolting against Putin. We also see more and more mysterious attacks/fires on locations inside of Russia.

Ukraine again claims to have hit important Russian warship. There are several reports from Ukraine that another Russian boat has been hit. This time it would be a frigate, the 'Admiral Makarov'.

It’s seeming more and more likely that the Claims about the Russian Frigate Admiral Makarov being stuck by Ukrainian Anti-Ship Missiles off the Coast of Odessa is True, multiple Rescue Ships and Aircraft are reportedly in the Area with U.S Surveillance Drones keeping eyes on it.

There would now be a major rescue operation, with several planes and boats. The Spk-46150, a Russian floating crane used for towing and salvage ships, is also said to be en route. In any case, the General Staff of the Ukrainian army already registered it as a fact. On their daily overview of Russian losses they put a “+1” next to the Russian boats. For Russia itself, it is another serious blow to the prestige of the navy.

It really is astonishing how many warships Russia can lose to a nation with no navy.

Have been reading posts in a hit and run manner so am not sure whether this ships sinking is confirmed or not. Anyway, it is clear that it would be sweer.

I only scanned this article. Looks like it was written before the alleged hit on it. Can't read it right now.

"There’s evidence Admiral Makarov’s skipper has been taking pains to keep her away from the Ukrainian coast."

OR NOT!!!!

The warship carried 8 "Calibr" missiles to strike Ukraine, now on fire
Ukrainian state media "Dumskaya" covering news from Odesa reported Friday, that russian frigate-class warship was on fire. According to the message, it was hit near Zmiinyi island by a domestically made "Neptune" anti-ship missile of the Ukrainian Navy.

The frigate of the russian navy Black Sea Fleet "Admiral Makarov" is severely damaged and caught fire, as the report says. Defense Express does not obtain the confirmation of this, yet the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added some intrigue to the story by mentioning another boat or cutter down in today's report on russian losses.......
