Russia & Ukraine

So, I try to have an honest question and you - once again - have to take a shot at me and accuse me of selling out my country. I'm only going to ask this question one time: Do you want me to try to have a conversation with you on a person to person basis or do you prefer we insult each other and throw snark around? I'm fine either way. Just curious which you prefer. I can be an asshole too, if you prefer.

As to making blanket statements about how Russians think life is cheap, this is totally untrue. The Russian military may behave a certain way, and God knows I've stated many times what they have done in Chechnya already, but the Russian people are not like that - and are really no different than the Ukrainians.

Buddy, I don’t know what to say to you. The Russians are raping, murdering,’leaving their dead in the gutter. They obviously value life less than most other people/nations. You disagree but I don’t see how. To me it’s obvious.

I see. Americans and other are weak for abiding by previous treaties and NATO agreements, and Putin is a genius for threatening to use nuclear weapons while violating international law.
That works until it doesn't.

Don't be so sure of Mr. Genius's future. Kruschev declared success in the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Kremlin put a good face on it. But in the background, everyone knew he handled it like a fucking idiot and the powers-that-be moved him out in about 18-24 months.

The Ulkrainians dont have sufficient forces to loop around behind his supply forces on the east and cut them off and the Russians can reach their own troops now wihout going through Ukraine. In Kyiv they did not have that advantage. They had to cross over the Ukrainians and the mud to get there. If Putin were fighting Nato or just the Americans we would put an end to that situation right off by letting all his troops come into the east then cutting off their supply lines by going into Russia- of course we would have already snuffed out the ones waiting for supply by using air power anyway. Tougher situation for what the Ukrainians are working with.

Vlad also has successfully created this little "rule" or he he thinks he as anyway, that Russia can come into Ukraine but if Ukraine goes into Russia it is breaking some fucking rule he made up. He got all worked up over the attack in those fuel tanks up Russia above Ukraine and said big scary things. That's all bullshit. Under international law, Ukraine would be totally entitled to roll into Moscow and level the fucking place to look like mariupol. The only reason that they can't do that is because the lack the military power- that's all. And they would be justified in using nukes if they still had them because it is beyond dispute that Russia is an existential threat to Ukraine.

Where Putin is at risk is that he is pushing his troops and generals hard to make gains regardless of civilian casualties and regardless of autrocities and there is defnitiely MORE TO COME on the horizon. Yet some of his recent actions and actions of his freelancing troops were so bad that it has literally stunned the world and the bad part has not even come yet. Long winded way of saying I can't guaranty Vlad what Nato will or will not do in the face of Rwanda in Ukraine or what the rest of the world will want to do, and cannot guaranty him that troops from other nations will not cross into Russia to cut off his supplies if he goes holocaustal in his actions. As all of the generals at the Insititute of War agree upon, "we need to give Putin something to worry about and show him a few red lines instead of just assuring him that we will not cross the red lines he has set."

Mind you that I am opposed to putting Americans on the ground, and opposed to a NATO action - but he needs to watch his arse because sometimes the rest of the world does not listen to me. Just to repeat: Putin is pushing those generals hard and letting them know that they are not to return empty handed so they are going to be doing some scary and holocaustal things. And if Putin fails again there he will crank up the nuclear threats which does in fact become a NATO issue. Watch your arse Vlad. You are not all that bright.

So what are you advocating for? Cruise missiles?

So what are you advocating for? Cruise missiles?

I am not really advocating. Just pointing out that I see the mood shifting around the world and Putin needs to watch his arse.

But yeh. Those cruise missiles sound good. I would hate to think they are not there already.
As I said a couple days ago, it is the CIA's and the intelligence/military's job to know the goddam gps coordinates of those two butcher generals at all times. I would waste a cruise missile on one of them any day of the week.

I don't know what you can do with the incoming supply line without troops on the ground and with no air strikes. Could be a lot. I don't know the layout. If there many bridges that are key, then missiles can do that. If they get planes and the planes have bombing or missile capability beyond just strafing then there would be that. Just saying, having the russian troops on the border and an open supply line behind them is a nightmare. But having Putin amass all his troops in the east and then cutting their supply line, hey, I could be down with that. The Ukrainians would keep them busy so they would not be bored. In theory they could be supplied by sea too, but I would just think of those ships as targets.

Some of those missiles could even be launched from another country but.....

Nato and the Americans should give full public notice to the people of Moscow that threats of nuclear attack have been received from the Russian government and that they should make appropriate plans to evacuate the city as needed.

If Rocket Boy Putin wants to ramp it up, we can do that. Putin got big and scary early on by saying that he was putting his nuclear forces on alert. Heh. let's just say, the Americans did not need to do much to be on full alert.
