Chips used in vehicles are old technology. That's part of the problem - no one is building new fabs that would efficiently produce such obsolete chips, it is not worth it. And one old fab burned down and a couple of old fabs were decommissioned a few years ago.So, I listen to you "say" this, and every one of the Class 8 truck producers that we have approached (and we have approached all of them - Peterbuilt, Freightliner, Kenworth, etc) for vehicles tells us that the number one part they lack are chips, and they all source them from China.

Military production requires latest tech in chips. Which the Chinese cannot produce. They don't have the fabs for it. They have been trying to catch up for decades, but Western companies that produce advanced fab equipment (ASML, for example) absolutely refuse to sell it to China. And China cannot produce such equipment themselves.
I see what you're doing, Tsing. Nice technique. You started out "reasonable", both sides etc. on this board. Then after a while you went full bore Putin propagandist. You're not fooling anyone.
Yes, there are a few on this forum. You are one so is Tsing. Russia subsidizes full factories of such people, but there are a lot of forums, so they are spreading themselves thin. You probably cover more than just elitetrader.
LMMFAO "truck producers we approached ....." Tonka truck producers.
If you're going to offer anything of value, let me know when you do it?
Other than that, if you'd like - we can do a private bet. Say, 10k to make it worth my time? When you see what I do for a living it will be obvious that I've had that conversation. I can even share some emails and phone contacts with you of these OEMs.
Let me know - send me a PM. We can even use a law firm we both agree on for escrow of the bet.

You have gone full blown paranoid, that's all there is. If you gave others the benefit of the doubt and could accept others having differing opinions then you would actually benefit.
As long as China stands united with Russia the conflict will last and supplies will continue flowing...thats my read of the trade data
