Well this is interesting.

Russian publication Komsomolskaya Pravda let the cat out of the bag, briefly, today. It removed the article from its pages pretty quickly, but, as you well know, Internet is forever.

Translation: According to the Russian Federation Defense Ministry, during the special operation in Ukraine the Russian Army has lost 9,861 dead, 16,153 wounded.

My comment: the 16,153/9,861 ratio would point to an absolutely appalling field medicine capability of the Russian army.

We, the US, assess Russian forces to be at 90% of their pre-invasion levels. These numbers would put Russian forces at 80% of pre-invasion levels. Somehow I just don’t think it is that bad. However, even at 90% a loss of 10% of fighting force can cripple combat forces.

The problem with your argument is that the US has changed leadership multiple times since Iraq and WMDs. Putin has invaded and waged wars all across the globe for more than 20 years.
