No western country is worried about a conventional war with Russia now. They completely shit the bed. They’re unsophisticated and ineffective. They have to resort to attacking civilians to make any military progress. A real Air Force would destroy any Russian invasion. Video game tokens are now worth more than a Russian ruble so Russians are buying certain game accounts and loading up on tokens as a hedge because they are blocked from global markets.

This guy was airborne. I read some stuff on the Russian paratroopers getting slaughtered and what I learned is that the Russians use their paratroopers more as civilian control than actual combat forces. The are considered “elite” but aren’t that respected by special operations combat forces within the Russians military.
Anyway, the paratrooper units were decimated in multiple areas early in the invasion, but mostly at that airport outside of Kyiv. And when they dropped those paratroopers in that airport it was an indication that the Russians totally expected to be encountering a weak resistance and many civilians, which they did not.
And this how we are where we are today with Russia certainly able to over power the Ukrainians but with a giant shitshow in theatre. These guys expected civilians and got met with fierce resistance because they underestimated their opponent.
This is the kind of shit show that would occur if the US got really, really stupid and invaded a country like Iran under the leadership of a psychopath like ... Trump. The world is a big place you can have all the military weapons you want if a large country doesn't want you it won't go well. Even after you "won" like in Iraq it's a hollow win you'll never be welcome.
Consider this a red flag on any US military bs as well. For the sake of the planet.
Trump certainly had small fiascos. He sent in an ill advised kill squad in his first week after a terror leader and we lost some servicemen. That was a poor decision. He also was not adequately prepared for the Iranian response to killing Soleimani and scoffed off a very serious attack on our base and injuries sustained to servicemen. But Trump never actually had to answer the call to a large operation but yes it is not difficult to imagine him sending troops into get slaughtered or pushing for us to commit war crimes etc.
With that said Biden has his own shortcomings on a larger scale than Trump ever had to face with the Afghanistan withdrawal. Although the deal Trump struck with the Taliban essentially included the demise of the Afghan government.
As to the sake of the planet… This Russia issue is far from over. Because of the Russians invading Ukraine, There will be lots of conflict points for years to come not only with us but between Russia and our allies. Lots of things can go wrong and right. As to what is best for the planet, Lindsey Graham is right. We need to leverage this crisis to remove Putin one way or another and the more we put it in the conversation the more likely it is to happen. Putin has to go.
