Putin stated he wants a return of all the historic Russian lands given away over the centuries. That means Alaska and part of the coast of California north of San Francisco.

In a survey that began after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and concluded Sunday evening, a majority of
Americans are voicing concern about Russia’s nuclear weapons. In the wake of Russian President Vladimir Putin referencing dire consequences facing any country that tries to counter the invasion, Americans say 63–32 percent that they are concerned that Russia may use nuclear weapons if NATO, which includes the United States, tries to interfere with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, according to a Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pea-ack) University national poll of adults released today.

Most of the survey was conducted before Putin announced Sunday that he was ordering Russian nuclear forces to be put on high alert. Americans think 66–20 percent that Putin has intentions to invade other countries beyond Ukraine. If Russia invades a NATO country, Americans say70–21 percent that American troops should get involved.

Support has increased for President Biden’s decision to deploy thousands of troops to Eastern Europe to support U.S. allies in NATO. Americans now support the decision 70–21 percent.In a February 16, 2022 Quinnipiac University Poll, they supported it 54–36 percent.

“American support for defending NATO countries surrounding Ukraine grows dramatically, but Americans cast a wary eye on the possible consequences.By more than three to one, they see Russia expanding its attack, and register deep concern over the darkest possible scenario, a nuclear attack on NATO and/or theUnited States,” said Quinnipiac University Polling Analyst Tim Malloy.

The real question that should be asked of the people polled is, are you willing to go fight the Russkies yourself, or are you staying home safe behind your keyboard? Since we're so close to WWIII, might be time for a draft. Wonder how that will poll?

Indeed.if there is a draft it should be all males and females aged 18-60,no deferments execpt for those currently on government disability.The young Trumps,Biden's,Cheney's etc have to go.You in college?So what you have to leave.No more 5 time college deferments.No private Dr deferments like Trumps bone spurs.


A lot people keep saying engage with Putin or call his bluff.If the US does that they don't seem to realize that Putin may not be bluffing and that The US has to be willing to go all the way the minute a Russian Troop dies at the hands of The US.
 
In searching for some truth, one must look to places other than our own media propaganda. Dore makes some good points, but as one of the comments to his video, (see copy below), it is somewhat slanted. Putin of course had options other than this full-scale invasion and no doubt also has had his hands in the game stirring up trouble for many years, as have we in the USA. As always, it comes down to money and power and there's not much of either to be had promoting peace and tranquility. What a f'n mess.

Dore cherry picks so many facts. Doesn't mention the Minsk agreement took place after Russia sent in troops (green men). Both sides have used weapons on civilian areas including artillery and Grad rockets against civilians (UN report). Does Dore not remember the passenger plane the separatist shot down with Russian rockets? You can go back and forth with reasons behind a conflict but don't be an apologist. The fact is the war in Donbass had gone from its height to a virtual stalemate. There was no imminent threat to justify the invasion of the second largest country in Europe with a population of 44 million people. To believe that is delusional.

Yep, the cheerleaders might change their tune if they were the ones taking the hit. One thing for sure, this situation has sure made for some strange bedfellows on either side of the argument. LOL

The U.S. military is so large they will never need to do a draft again..not to mention a lot of war is foought by 1/3 the force sitting on ships firing missles or managing drones from Nevada.
