I hear ya.
Where I would join partially with Comrade Tard is that the Ruskies are an extremely mixed bag in some areas. This, I believe, comes from their punching far, far, far, above the weight of their small economy by committing a disproportionate portion of their resources to the military- such that they are state of the art and beyond in some areas and still on the hunting and gathering level in others.
I offer up the following very recent example: A few days I ago I read a report about social media and internet being shut off to the troops that were beginning to encircle the donbass area after a long trip there. One reporting source said that before they were shut off, some of the social media, or internet communications indicated that the soldiers were grousing about being sent out on (what they said was) a training exercise but they were hungry and were being expected to buy food out of their own pockets as they traveled. I thought to myself: "You gotta be shiiting me. The invasion has not even begun yet and these guys are hungry or at least traveling without food supplies- yet this is the same country that has supersonic missiles whizzing around just to show how advanced and ahead of us that they are." So it is a mixed bag. Very mixed.
But to your point, even if they did only last a week, that would be one helluva week with the buttons they have their fingers on.
As an aside, some of the Russian pow's that were being filmed by the Ukranians were also saying that they were told that it was a training exercise until the day they were ordered to go.
