As to defending Biden, that’s another issue. Where I see this isn’t so much as Biden but NATO, and us, ie Biden, as a part of NATO. Minus Germany, NATO on the whole is doing alright.

The problem I see is you and the right wing media are creating this false narrative that this is a biden v Putin thing, when it’s a Russia v nato thing. Having a unified nato is critical and The criticism of Germany is very much on good footing. Putin moving at a time when Merkel is freshly out of power is actually very telling of his strategy to divide nato.

Biden is a classic western alliance American President. It’s nice to have a pro-western President again. He understands it and seems to leverage it. I like that. Wrong. All you’re doing is parroting what the right wing media tells you’ve right now. And, no Putin is not making a binary (the irony) calculation. There is a lot of moving parts there, starting with his own failure to turn Ukraine into a vassal state and Ukraine having less pro Russian support since the annexation of Crimea. Saying Putin is looking at Biden and making all of his decisions based on that is as silly as the people who say the stock market is related to Biden Harris.

Taiwan is a different animal. TPP would have been an enormous economic leverage had it have come to fruition in this situation. Now China is making a play to get into TPP2 and it’s all for naught. I’m afraid there isn’t much to be done about Taiwan when you game it out. The Chinese are so economically woven throughout the globe sanctioning them is almost sanctioning everyone else at the same time. That’s just a hard truth.

You're too clouded. The entire world is Biden, Biden, Biden to you. Biden, meaning the US, will not stop Russia from going into Ukraine alone. Saying Biden is weak is the exact opposite of true. NATO is more unified with Biden as President than the previous years. If anything Merkel was the de facto leader of NATO due to America pulling back for the past few years. And you yourself have announced how much shortcomings came about with Germany leading the way for the previous 4 years.

What you do not address is the political climate in Ukraine has gotten more anti Russia so Putin is in place where is watching Russia’s greatest buffer state move away from him and he seeking to turn that around. The problem for him is his past incursions and annexations have made matters worse for him so it’s sort of now or never with Ukraine. Making pro Russian Ukrainians Russian citizens does not help his cause. Taking Donbas pretty much cedes Ukraine proper to the west. So, he wants to negotiate with nato to limit their weapons and treaties with Ukraine while scary the shit out of Ukraine with a full on invasion. Now Putin sees America as having the greatest influence on NATO that is why the Russians asked for nato talks directly with Americans but America has not moved on behalf of NATO - THIS IS THE CENTER OF ALL THINGS UKRAINE RUSSIA RIGHT NOW.

If anything we are lucky to have Biden rather the faltering Germans as the nation involved in direct talks.

Now as I have explained to you before it is not about Biden being weak, it’s about Putin has basically put a gun to his and Ukraine’s head because no scenario benefits Russia except for NATO agreeing to his demands.

You saying Biden, Biden, Biden is just a parrot of what your media is telling you because it wants to undermine Biden. Your media is also being steered by Russia right now. A lot of the talking points you all make that undermines our military is directly from Russian propaganda. I am telling you, turn off your tv and stay off of the right wing sites. I don't think that backdoor route shown there applies because the U.S. is not going into Russia or the Ukraine.

However, just as a piece of historical trivia, that route is a well-traveled route because the U.S. supplied Russia during WW2- bigtime via that way when the Krauts had the Russians trapped and bogged on the eastern and western fronts. Russia of course was our ally in those days. I point that out for those who have a recent American school education and did not study that in their history class which focused on explaining why Heather has two mommies and one has a dick.
