I read sort of an interesting little tidbitoid the other day that I must admit I think has some merit.
As background, recall that Russia plays this whole game with conscripts about whether they are in foreign wars or not. Russian law says you have to have a declaration of war to put conscripts in the battle etc. So there is this big ruse about Russia says no they are not there and the parents say "my son was a conscript and now he is dead" so on and so forth, round and round they go.
Anyway, some pundit was making the case that one of the reasons why Putin was balls to the wall anxious to annex the four oblasts (even though they barely control them and it would be a major defeat to have to back out) is because by making them Russian territory he can then send conscripts there under Russia law.
Yep, I can see Putin being motivated in that way- being an idiot.
The downside of course is that by declaring them to be part of Russia that means that- according to Putin's logic- the Ukrainians are now taking a piece of the Motherland (or is it Fatherland- never figured out how that works) Give it another ten days and things will heat up in Kherson. The Ukrainians want Kherson before the deep part of winter. That battle will either go in a week because the Russians decided to "relocate to a more strategic position" or it will take a month if they want to grind it out. Their choice.
Yeah.... this is the week where all the vatniks and troll farm employees are pushing the Kremlin tick-tock countdown it's coming narrative.
Vatniks may well be doing what you are referring to, my point is that your own government wants this to happen, time has come for a major fallout, everyone with half a brain knows that things have been getting progressively worse, and now we have the official inflation that they aren't able to get under control, so time is getting close to ship all of us out to fight it out, over Ukraine? Of course not, Ukraine was simply used to shitstir the Russians, this worked, now we are entering phase 2, when shit's about to get real.
It good to see the troll farm employees and vatniks are able to push Putin's talking points this week. The Kremlin is proud of you, comrade.
But let's take a look at the reality for the future of Russia -- The inevitable result of Putin's invasion of Ukraine is a disastrous decline of Russia. At this point all Putin can do is rattle the nuclear saber -- which isn't going to change anything.
