Russians rely on that rail bridge more and more as the Ukrainians take out rail lines north of Kherson.
Yep. This bridge explosion has very bad optics for the Russians but I am ever on the lookout for events that put the screws to the Russian troops in Kherson City more and more. The Russian troops are trapped there BUT they vastly outnumber the Ukrainian troops. There is only about one more set of rail lines remaining in the north. In Luhansk or Donetsk, a little further east than the Lyman area. After the Ukrainians take that out, then the only rail line they have left is the one coming up from Crimea across the Kersch Bridge. AND LET'S JUST SAY THAT IS NOT LOOKING PARTICULARLY GOOD EITHER NOW.
I don't want to see all those Ukrainian and Russian troops killed in Kherson City. The more you can cut off the supply, the more that will surrender. The Ukrainians have taken back a lot of land but they have not taken back any city of any size. If they take back Kherson City that is an ultra-major victory. They have to be careful though and not get drawn into house to house combat or a full frontal assault too early. The Russians are clowns but there are tens of thousands of them in Kherson and they have trainload after trainload of old soviet era artillery that they can do damage with. Wait them out. Let the lack of supply continue to weaken the Russian position. Taking the Antonov and other bridges out helps. Taking the rail hub at Izium helps. Taking the rail hub at Liman out helps. Taking the Kerch bridge out helps. etc. etc. Some patience required. Time is not on the side of the Russians trapped in Kherson.
