Russia & Ukraine

A lot of tough criticism flying around, day after day now in regard to Russian military leadership. Nevertheless, it is still somewhat amazing how all the critics go out around Shoigu- the leading clown who got him into this "3-day war." They know that Putin and Shoigu are/were buddy-buddy, vacation together at Vlad's villas and also to places in Tuva where Shoigu is from. The guy is a loser but he is Vlad's loser so the critics get ballsy now in criticizing the military leadership but they still watch their arses when it comes to Shoigu.

The protection of Shoigu may collapse soon, but he should have been the first, not the last, to pay the price. Can't stand in the way of love between Vlad and Tuva Boy I guess.

Instead they cherry pick generals here and generals there to criticize. Hello. Who is the Defense Minister in this clown show?

Ukraine war: Lyman retreat sparks rare criticism of Russian top brass

One of the first to react to the loss of Lyman was Ramzan Kadyrov, the strongman leader of Russia's Chechnya Republic and a staunch supporter of President Vladimir Putin.

In a Telegram post on 1 October, he singled out General Alexander Lapin, commander of Russia's Central Military District, and senior officers at the Russian General Staff for the loss.

"Were it up to me, I would have demoted Lapin to private, stripped him of his awards, given him an assault rifle and sent him to the front to wash away his shame with blood," he declared in his post, which has been viewed more than 7.6m times.

His criticism of the Russian military command was later endorsed by Kremlin ally Yevgeny Prigozhin, a media mogul and founder of the Wagner private military company.

"The expressive statement by Kadyrov is not entirely in my style. But I can say to it, Ramzan, you're a star, say it like it is!" he said in a press release put out by his Konkord company on their VK social media page.

Elon Musk Slammed For Controversial 'Russia-Ukraine Peace' Twitter Poll

Russian officials have praised Elon Musk's peace plan for Ukraine, claiming "many ideas" raised by the Tesla CEO "deserve attention."

On Monday, Musk tweeted a four-point plan to end the war, which would see Crimea ceded by Ukraine to Russia, fresh sovereignty referendums in four Ukrainian provinces partially occupied by Moscow and Ukraine agreeing to "remain neutral."

Musk tweeted his proposal as a poll on Monday, asking his followers to vote "yes" or "no" in response.

Musk's tweet read: "Ukraine-Russia Peace:

"Redo elections of annexed regions under UN supervision. Russia leaves if that is [the] will of the people."

"Crimea formally part of Russia, as it has been since 1783 (until Khrushchev's mistake)," Musk wrote.

"Water supply to Crimea assured.

"Ukraine remains neutral."

As of 7:30 a.m. ET on Tuesday, the poll had received over 2.5 million votes, with 60 percent voting "no" and 40 percent "yes."......

Good job, Musk, you've managed to make Lindsey Graham sound like a sane, rational, sensible person.

Graham, Musk feud over invasion of Ukraine

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) feuded with billionaire Elon Musk over the SpaceX CEO’s proposed solution to ending the war in Ukraine in a Twitter thread on Wednesday.

Musk asked his more than 100 million followers on Monday to weigh in on his peace proposal, which includes giving the Crimean Peninsula to Russia and holding new elections in four illegally annexed regions. Ukrainian officials have loudly rejected the idea.

Graham, while acknowledging his “respect” for Musk, shot back on Wednesday that his solution is “dumb” and the world’s richest man needs to “understand the facts of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.”

“In 1994, through the Budapest Memorandum, Ukraine gave up its nuclear weapons arsenal — the third largest in the world — in return for assurances their territorial integrity would be protected,” the senator wrote. “It was an agreement signed by Russia that included protecting Crimea and the Donbas as part of Ukraine.

“If you want peace in Ukraine — which we ALL do — simply demand Russian honor the boundaries they agreed to in 1994 and withdraw their forces,” Graham added. “To do otherwise is to legitimize a bait and switch by Russia and a signal to other bad actors to take what you want – by force! If Elon Musk and others want the world to continue to be in chaos, then by all means capitulate to [Russian President Vladimir] Putin and reward his aggression.”

The senator, among the fiercest critics of Putin in Congress, also mused that lawmakers should “revisit the electric vehicle tax credit” to pay for more assistance to Ukraine in an apparent financial threat to the Tesla CEO.

Musk said that some portions of eastern Ukraine do wish to be a part of Russia.

“Assuming you believe that the will of the people matters, we should, in any given conflict region, support the will of those who live there,” the billionaire wrote, potentially referring recent referenda in the region that have been widely decried as illegitimate.

The spat with the GOP senator adds to a growing list of critics on Musk’s peace proposal. On Monday, a Ukrainian diplomat and Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky sharply criticized the plan.

Musk has provided Starlink satellites to Ukraine to boost internet service amid the war.

The billionaire, who is seeking to revive his $44 billion plan to buy Twitter, also said earlier this year he would start voting Republican.
