The Hill reporting that Xi has offered protection to K-stan if Putin tries to invade.
K-stan has always been part of Putin's plan to put his empire together but then K-stan refused to send troops to Ukraine despite all the pressure to do so, and K-stan wants to sellenergy to Europe even though Putin blocked it. Putin figured that he had K-stan in the bag because he sent Russian troops over to prop up the government when things got rocky and so he expected a little return favor. Not to be. Then he figured he would finish up his 3 day war and go over and invade them. Also not to be.
Xi was hoping that Russia would be able to pull off their little stunt and then China and Russia would be buddy buddy and Xi would use Vlad's influence over the central Asian countries as a gateway for China doing business there. Now Xi is just using Putin's weakend status to deal direct with those countries and win the battle for central asia with or without Putin.
And I still don't see those Belarus troops crossing border. I see them marching all along the border and stomping their feet extra hard while Lukashenko says scary things, but where's the beef. There ain't gonna be any beef. Bunch of blowhards.
You screwed this one up Vlad. BIGTIME.
"The day before the two met, Xi warned Putin against meddling in Kazakhstan. This was significant because the Kazakhs have been in Putin’s crosshairs since their leader openly criticized the war in Ukraine, then announced that Kazakh oil exports would be diverted to help Europe. Russians blocked the exports, then some hinted it may be invaded too.
Xi pledged to protect the country in a private meeting with leaders that was leaked. “We [China] will resolutely support Kazakhstan in the defense of its independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he said. This was clearly a pre-emptive rebuke aimed at Putin’s imperialism designed to distance China from Russia as its invasion of Ukraine falters."
