Putin's Cabin Boy- Medvedev- bloviating here and being faux ballsy.

He is snaky little Soy Boy though. Not sure what he is up to. I suspect he is just virtue signaling to the hard right because it is a safe posture to take. To do that does not undermine Vlad or the generals and he avoids the wrath of the hard right and the Russian people. All of these clowns have to position themselves so that they do not appear to have been one of the soft ones who weakened Russia if it goes bad. It is harder for the generals to do that because they want to do the hardline pro-Russia talk but then they end out being sent out into the battlefield to make all the stupid aspirations and orders of Putin to work and then he shit-cans them and others portray them as losers. Cabin Boy just bloviates around Moscow in his deputy bullshitter job. Putin should send him to Ukraine and make him a Mayor of some no-man's land city there if he is so ballsy.

Let's just say that the world has changed a bit in the last six months.

Putin sees Armenia and Azerbaijan and thinks: Yo, that is my little playground. No one can eve locate them on a map and the west pretty much does not care what I do in the region.

Flash forward from six months ago, and now Europe sees Azerbajaiin as one of - if not the- biggest potential sources of natural gas as an alternative to Russia, longer term.

In addition, Israel now is expressing big interest and involvement in Azer as a way to counter Iran's influence.

And the elephant in the room, is that everyone knows that Russia does not have the troops or the backing from neighboring countries to support Putin's ambitions. The whole notion of Putin being a peace negotiator or a specialist in conflict resolution is laughable. He already has troops in the region of Azerbajaiin that is Russian speaking and y'all know Putin's view of the world which is: If you speak Russian I own you.

Nope, Europe needs the gas so Azerbajaiin is not going to Putin anytime soon.

Moldova is still on Putin's menu.

Problem is, he knows he can not afford everything that was on his menu.

He has tried recently and still is to do a mini-Moldova move, by moving more troops into Transnistria and Moldova has resisted and Vlad says all sorts of scary things but really does not have the troops or the energy to work it very hard.

Vlad has a lot on his plate these days. He may be drooling over the sirloin steak on the steakhouse menu, but will have to settle for a cheeseburger in some areas. And he should get his order "to go" as well.
