Idiotic. But par for the course. They are counting on signing up the idiots. Their problem is that idiots are not very effective as soldiers.Nina Chubarina's son Yevgeny left their village in the northern region of Karelia to join a volunteer battalion. Nina says her son, who had no military experience, was given a gun and sent straight into Ukraine.
He was killed just days later. He was 24 years old.
As expected we are seeing multiple claims regarding the car bombing death of conservative commentator Daria Dugina who is the daughter of well-known anti-Western Russian nationalist Alexander Dugin -- often called "Putin's brain''. There are news reports that Alexander Dugin is now in the hospital after suffering a heart attack -- hence the Russian press is stating he was "wounded" in the attack.
The claims regarding the bombing vary from Putin is responsible for the attack, to Ukraine is responsible for the attack, to claims from multiple shadowy barely-known Russian militant groups that they are responsible for the attack. All the while the Russian media is whipping up outrage in the country to demand revenge.
We will see how things pan out over the upcoming week.
As I posted, a Russian "resistance" organization called "Russia will be free" took responsibility for the killing. And Ukrainians officially denied their involvement. Take it for what it's worth.
Considering her father's "Kill, kill, kill all Ukrainians" imprecations and the fact that she represented his ideology on propaganda shows, I find it very hard to be sad about the event.
and here is a funny coincidence: this is Dugin's tweet from exactly a year ago. It reads: "Whatever doesn't kill me, kills someone else".
