Don’t get me wrong, I do not underestimate Russia’s ability to throw tens of thousands muskovites into the Ukrainian meat grinder. They can “win” but at this point no one sees the Russians as a competent military. The numbers of dead Russians and real time performance of their equipment shows how poor their capabilities are.
America invaded two countries successively and controlled them simultaneously for over a decade. The Russians tried to replicate the shock and awe strategy, pretty much the gold standard for modern warfare, we applied in Iraq and failed miserably. And even if the Russians managed to control Ukraine then they would have hold it. There’s no way they could’ve like we did in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Face it, the Russians are in way over their head because they’re second rate. They talked themselves into a giant flaming mess and all that is left for them to do is throw more Russians into the meat grinder. It sucks hardcore to be them.
I saw this just before. He goes on to say that the whole world is also basically against them and that being isolated from the west is ultimately Russia’s biggest problem. Millions of Russians were sitting on the edge of their seats on Victory Day hoping that Putin would not declare war and announce a general mobilization. So they were relieved- but that doesn't mean that Putin can't change his mind as needed.
Any Russian who listened to that military analyst and believed even a fraction of what he was saying and is able to put two and two together would realize that a general mobilization would be needed to go up against the Ukrainian army that he described.
The Ice Queen moderator there is babbling on about the glories of Russian conscripts and apparently thinking that with the new annual batch coming in that everything will be groovy. Ahh, no.
On balance, the Russians having to worry about being called up is a good thing. It gives them skin in the game instead of waving the Russian flag in Moscow and cheering on the "special operation" like it is a football match or something. Their "invitation" to play on the team could already be in the mail.

If Iraq/Afganistan got the same type of military/monetary/intelligence assistance from third party Ukraine gets from US/NATO it would be absolute disaster for US army.

If you rate Russia military second rated I would rate US ten rated based on their performance in Afganistan which gives Russia good chance in Ukraine actually
