I read Russian social forums once in a while.

You know, Russia blocked a bunch of services. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. The reaction I have seen on these forums was muted. Like - meh, we'll deal with it.

But now the Russian government is proposing to block Youtube. You should see the explosion on these forums. Everyone, including all the pro-war posters, is condemning the decision and vowing to do everything possible to evade the restriction. Funny.

Even funnier - one Duma (Russian Parliament) member suggested that Russia should "confiscate and nationalize Youtube". ROTFLMAO.

Either that or it is a bizarre coincidence. Weird, isn't it, that horrible, unstable, crude, and incompetent Trump has held inflation down for his whole term while the supposedly ultra competent Democrat return to sanity managed to get it to Carter levels in just about a year. It must be a coincidence. There is no other explanation.

I remember reading a post a long time ago about the dumbest things Duma members had ever said. It was quite a trip!

Of course, we have politicians that are worried about Guam capsizing in a storm, so we don't have a lot to offer beyond Russians.

As for canceling Facebook, Instagram, etc...we'd probably be better off if we did.

Deputy mayor of Dnepr Mikhail Lysenko called on Russian mothers to take away the bodies of Russian solders killed in Ukraine.

"Right now in Dnepr morgues there are more than 1500 bodies of Russian soldiers that no one wants to pick up. We hope that some of their mothers can come and take their sons that they brought up all their lives. We have four refrigerated facilities filled up with the bodies. Whatever you feel about them, they are still someone's children.

Their parents loved them, they brought them up, they took them to school... We will organize everything, let them take the bodies of their sons."
