Russia & Ukraine

Both sides, Putin and Ukraine, NATO need to come to an accommodation that both sides can accept and still save face. Otherwise, they would be at war for years. In the end, each side does not get all they want. Give a little, take a little. That is what needs to happen. Escalation like establishing a no fly zone, goading Ukraine to keep fighting, probably, is not the best way to end this war. Women and children will suffer the most. Putin probably, will accept something he can spin as a win. Give him Crimea and the Donbass, Luhansk areas. Ukraine declares neutrality. NATO removes all tactical nuclear weapons from Estonia, Latvia, Poland and moves it further away. That buffer with Russia, Putin can take that as a win and pull his forces out of Ukraine. It will also, save a lot of lives of Ukrainians and Russians military and the civilian population.
I don't think he would be satisfied with a small portion of Ukraine though as he has his sites on not just reunifying the USSR, but to go further and reestablish the entire Russian Empire from before. --I thought he already had Crimea.

Bloomberg reporting that the US is considering/getting ready to ban Russian oil even though the Europeans are not there.

That might be okay if the US does it as a matter of being in a leadership position. Give it a few days after it happens though and it will have a real ugly look to it. The unspoken truth that the Americans care more about defending Europe than Europe does will boil up more than a bit.

Putin has Crimea and want to annex it permanently as part of the Russian state. It is one of the terms the Russians are demanding including, recognizing Donbass and Luhansk as independent states, Ukraine declaring neutrality and not being a member of any bloc, including NATO. No way Putin will invade Estonia, Latvia or Poland who are all members of NATO and have Article 5 protecting them.

Biden doesn't realize that this catastrophe, if handled correctly, could perhaps get his numbers back up.

I'm not sure that I would say "no way". I do believe that is what he wants to do starting with Moldova after Ukraine. At least that is his desire. He may be trying to build legacy.

Need to put out a warrant for his arrest then.

He will be fine as long as he does not leave Russia.

It can be argued that this is just exercise that will never amount to anything.

Yes or I don't know is my answer to that. Might be a way to keep him locked down in Nouveau North Korea.

Also, some of those Bosnia scumbags were actually tried and held to account. I am little hazy on the names. The names all look like a eye test chart anyway. Pretty racist to say but fuck em.

I just don't see Putin continuing as a wanted man though. Wanted for war crimes obviously. Even if a deal is reached, Russia will be completely out of the world until he steps down or dies. Or is overthrown from within. It's a tough call, because there is no way in hell the world is gonna let him off the hook for this. So what can he do?
This is a tough one.
Split the world in two factions maybe. Russia plus China vs all the rest. But China needs us.
I dunno.

China is already in Russia's side. Russia signed a deal recently, to supply China with oil. Russia also, has a lot of commodities the world needs including, China. China would want Russia as an ally when they invade Taiwan which is coming. They are just waiting. They know sanctions will be imposed on China as well but, China is very strong economically and soon, stronger militarily.

China is playing both ends against the middle. This current bullshit weakens both Russia and the USA. China may suffer little, but they're good at watching people suffer while the long term goals are achieved. They are playing a very long game.
