Russia & Ukraine

Russia can only exist as Russia under dictatorship. They tried democracy, it wasn't for them. The country would fragment into several without an iron hand*.

Ukraine being smaller could slowly and painfully become a functioning parliamentary democracy with a bunch of parties. As Poland has been turning into a recognisable, less fucked up developed nation thanks to returning emigrants who went to Western Europe, Ukraine was getting the knock-on effect of higher expectation of institutions.

But it's at a pace that does not work with the US' political bipolar disorder.


*I see similarities to Iraq being bad under Saddam but was for a long time worse for many without his terror. Putin, or a Putin is somewhat like this? Maybe Russia need to be in smaller nation units to actually flourish. I'm saying that in a neutral way, not hehe the Chinese will then eat them way.

Putin has been told that the Patriot air defense system in Ukraine has been destroyed -- a dozen times now. According to Russian propaganda they have destroyed more Patriot missile batteries than were ever shipped to Ukraine. Shortly those numbers will be greater than the number of Patriot batteries which exist on the face of the earth. The entire thing is laughable.

Lukashenko has run an 18-month rant on the need to get ballsy with Ukraine and shoulda, coulda, want-ta take it.

Meanwhile, he has sent ZERO Belarus troops to Ukraine despite daily arm-twistings from Vlad.

The only Belarus fighting in Ukraine are the ones who went there to fight on the Ukrainian side.

Putin and the Kremlin types are also ramping up the nuke talk, all while placing a good portion of their nuclear arsenal in Belarus- thus ensuring that if nuclear war breaks out, Belarus will be the first to be reduced to a parking lot in Newark, New Jersey. Lukadumbo might want to ask himself how smart it is to get into that position.
