See this is how you display your knowledge of the world, and unwittingly showcase the fact you never traveled the world.
Russia has few homeless compared to other countries due to harsh winters and different culture. The millions of homeless you speak of would never survive a single year, you have no idea what you are talking about.
Income drops outside of every major city, what's your point ?
There is no REAL siberian community, just like Alberta Oil Sands, most of those people are workers for oil companies living in temporary housing. Native population of Siberia is incredibly small.
Putin popularity numbers where pretty high PRE Crimea and very high POST Crimea situation, facts disagree with you.
Russian Ventures, ??? LOL, what exactly are Russian ventures, can you even compare US military ventures and Russian ventures.
Of course you agree with Cornix, I get it, you are on North American forum one of those gung ho USA USA chanting sleepwalkers.
The day you wake up is the day dollar will collapse under the debt made BY REAL "VENTURES".
And no......at that time, we won't see you online, you'll be panicking about real things in life, food, protection, the fact that calling 911 doesn't do a thing depending on neighborhood you live in.
Etc etc etc, dream on, till one day you are forced to wake up
I don't supposed you are aware of recent study by a prestigious American university that demonstrates that America is the largest Oligarchy in the world. Of course you are not aware of it, because CNN FOX BBC CBC didn't cover that, they were busy with other things.
You must be joking or very very naive and uninformed.
Putin has Rotenberg brothers and many other oligarch buddies whose interests are purely financial. Where do you think the billionaires of Moscow come from? In a city with a huge (I've been told millions) number of homeless people, it's an abomination. Once you go further away from Moscow, the incomes drop drastically. People in Siberia are actually being ripped off badly as Moscow lives on Siberian oil deposits while contributing very little to the local economy. Look at the numbers, those regions contribute massively to the Russian federal budget.
Putin's popularity was dropping pre-Olympics and the Crimea invasion, both are popularity tricks applied by politicians from around the world. Russian citizens will bear the cost of these ventures, benefits will be reaped by the oligarchs.
I completely agree with cornix, what he says applies to every country on the planet. Russia is experiencing the gravity effect of GDP, in the beginning of the 1990s the oil production dropped significantly as did the GDP, right now oil production is at its height as are Russian incomes. There is a direct correlation to oil/gas exports and income. Whoever the leader might've been, the Russian incomes would've risen.
The incomes are relatively low and there's a long way to go to reach US living standards. There's much more to the economy than just debt levels.
