Russia Developing Drone Sub To Deliver Large Nukes

Just to expand on why Rubio and Fiorina frighten me, they advocated our declaring a no-fly zone over all or parts of Syrian air space.

Maybe I'm dense or just haven't paid close enough attention....

But what's the real reason we're in Syria?? (So, Assad is a bad guy... as was Saddam. We got rid of him and look what it got us and the rest of the world.)

Can't we just "butt out"?

The real cause for the US anger are the attempts of Russia and China to break the power of the dollar.

Khadaffi used to be on friendly terms with many European leaders. The moment he announced that Lybia wouln't accept dollars for it's oil, he was finished.

I read the articles which try and support him... but they are always flawed or just blame the neocons.

On the other side of the coin some argue Obama has purposely attempted to destabilize the middle east in support of the muslim brotherhood and Iran vs Saudi and Isreal (and the U.S.)

When you consider Jarrett's and Kerry's ties to Iran... it may make sense. I welcome other explanations.

I think Syria is part of the larger sunni/shia battle ground. Saudi Arabia and the other sunni states were alarmed by Iran's increasing influence in Iraq. So they created ISIS to act as a proxy force to block the shias. Assad is a Iran proxy, backed by hezhbollah militias, so Israel also wants him gone. Syria is Russia's one remaining middle eastern ally, and they have a naval base there, so they are all in for him.

The one obvious missing ingredient is the US. We have basically no interest there, which is why the calls to intervene make so little sense. Let the sunnis and shias fight it out among themselves, like they have been doing for hundreds of years.

Rubio says the world is safer when the US exerts leadership. How did that work out in Iraq, Libya, Egypt and a host of other places?
