Thanks for the advice Max. The silver lining is my friend owns the body shop that does all the work for Braman Motors BMW in West Palm. I will definitely ask him to check on the frame.

Max401 just offered advice to Error? Why am I starting to get the inclination that Max401 and Error are the same person suffering from a split personality disorder?

In a similar vein, what's with you picking on GG all the time? Lighten up. Me and Max earned our rights to be cranky assholes with life experience. You guys are too young.

GG is OK...he just needs to stop posting and drinking at the same time. (Otherwise he turns into FPC, a fate worse than death....well, maybe equal).

BTW, this is NOT the first time Max has offered advice. He helped me quite a lot when I got a new laptop last winter. And I acknowledged that with gratitude on more than a couple of occassions. Max is OK in a lot of ways. I wish we could get this thing between us behind us.

For this very reason, I do wish Max would call my wife. That would end all the contention. Which is all I ever wanted. As Hapaboy said.."no one wants to be called a liar". Not even by anonymous posters on an electronic message board.

Hell, BobCathy has not only multiple personalities, but different genders! And I couldn't even begin to start naming all of Commisso's personalities (all of them good guys).

But I assure you, while Max and I may have a lot in common, sharing our bodies, minds, and lives are not among those things. Stephen King couldn't get that bizarre! (But he did try in one of his weaker efforts).

Is the car driveable? If not, then frame damage is all the more a possibility. Upon the lease turn in, they may not give you the full residual, but your insurance company will not make up this gap, unless there is a gap clause that would apply to your situation. The gap clause would seem unlikely to kick in because the other party's insurance would cover it. But if Florida is a "No Fault" state, that may not exactly apply.

The insurance co. will have a signed waiver to exclude them from any future indemnification, so the only way to resolve it is to get into a sticky area called "loss of value," the "value" being the possibly reduced future residual value.

It's good you have the connection with the BMW dealer's body guy. Any good body shop can fix damage so that it is almost impossible to find, but the insurance companies don't pay for that kind of quality. Ask your friend if that damage can be fixed well enough to escape scrutiny that would know the value. This doesn't mean that you would try and hide anything, it's more dependent on how much and the kind of damage.

For example, on many cars, not sure of the Z4, after the car is painted there is a factory applied VIN sticker on every body panel. The replacement panels come with a generic black letters on white background sticker that says "R-DOT," which means that it is a replacement panel and hence doesn't have the DOT mandated 17 digit VIN. You can see how on cars with these stickers how easy it is to spot a car that has been previously damaged.

A truce??? Can't we at least squeeze out one more psycho-babble dissertation from ARogueTrader? (I hear that some think he's Optional777 reincarnated.)

"In fact, what these records show is that Mr. Limbaugh suffered extreme pain and had legitimate reasons for taking pain medication. Unfortunately, because of Mr. Limbaugh's prominence and well-known political opinions, he is being subjected to an invasion of privacy no citizen of this republic should endure.

"Let us make our position clear: Rush Limbaugh is not part of a drug ring. He was never a target of a drug investigation. He became addicted to a prescription drug during legitimate medical treatment. He has publicly admitted this problem and has successfully sought treatment which continues today.

"We won't speculate on why the State Attorney's Office is handling Mr. Limbaugh's case the way it is. But what should be a responsible investigation is looking more and more like a fishing expedition."
