This blurb from ArogueTrader must be a result of his dictum to the ET brethren, "editing = indications of obsessive compulsive behavior". To wit, from Dr. ARogueTrader:

So the poor Docktor, even though he realized he made another mistaken ludicrous proclamation, sadly couldn't edit it, lest the masses deem him to have the same affliction he so righteously determined others were guilty of.

You're giving equal weight to RS7 on the issue of basic honesty and then ask for a give in. RS7 has already admitted that his stated "combat" experience was untrue. Can you believe the rest? Filmore East, Greg Allman, Cher Bono, etc?

In any event, when someone comes out in a public forum and in a threatening way uses an alleged act to try and intimidate another to modify the way they speak in that public forum, then that, at the very least, needs to be called upon as to its veracity. I submit that RS7's story of being under the duress of any threat, his claim of going to a court, and attempting to file legal proceedings, is a sham.

And by the way....maybe you missed it, but I explained here in one of the anti/pro gun threads that I am NOT anti-gun. However, I did trade my last and only remaining gun (a 9mm Llama) for a Fender Champ (single tube) guitar amp....same model Clapton used to record Layla. If only I had the talent to make the thing sound the way he did) Even better would be to make my Stratocaster sound the way his does (very similar guitar actually...his is green, mine is red with one more pickup). Of course his is an Eric Clapton model, and I bet he gets a good discount on them. Mine is most definitely NOT an RS model, and I got no discount at all (Mine looks better though.....Stat Ultra) .

Got it (the amp, not the guitar) for my "alleged* son" while my "alleged*" wife was "allegedly*" dying of cancer. But that was 8 years before I got my "alleged*" car. And a little more than 20 years after I "allegedly*" jammed with my "alleged*" friend Greg Allman. But about 2 years before my "alleged*" move to Aspen, and 10 years before my "alleged*" ski trip to Chamonix. And it was about 22 years after I "allegedly*" met my "alleged*" girlfriend, who later went on to be an "allegedly*" quite famous actress. Which was the same year I "allegedly* graduated from Miami.

(*) all "allegeds" courtesy of Max401, the formerly, (but as of yesterday, no longer) alleged trader, who proved beyond all doubt since then, that he indeed does NOT trade. But I will not even bother. Any professional trader can read Max's posts for the past 2 days, and stumble upon the [proof positive that it is IMPOSSIBLE that he trades. Open and shut!!!!! Case closed forever. Max is great at what he does. Provide animosity, contention, agitation, negativity, etc. But trade? No chance in hell. It is now officially proven by Max himself! Just when I thought he was too cautious and clever to fall into a trap of his own making. Too Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!

Max, this is the crux of your - for the lack of a better term - "problem." Why is it so important to you whether or not Filmore East, Greg Allman, Cher Bono, etc. is true?!?! This is all done anonymously under the veil afforded to each of us by cyberspace. Anonymity implicityly requires a degree of skepticism, don't you think? I thus fail to see how you can be so offended by someone you have never seen or met who posts things in a public electronic message board. Why is it so difficult for you just to have doubts about this anonymous person and just leave it at that? I mean, when you receive spam e-mail, do you actually read all that crap or just ignore and delete the darned things?

Sorry Hap, you are right. My response was angry. And unnecessary. Bad mood tonight. Some old fart ran a red light and demolished my almost new BMW, and I was in the emergency room for 5 hours being studiously ignored. Coming home to Max's nonsense was not what I needed to see.

And the percocets won't let me sleep at all. I always thought these kinds of drugs knocked you out. Little did I know. My chances of sleep right now are zero.

And my level of being pissed off is off the charts. I know the insurance company will not consider the car totaled, and I also know it is virtually impossible to get it fixed "good as new". Whole passenger side is gone. I hope they can come close with the paint.

I leased the car, but was planning on buying it out at the end of the term. Now that's out of the question. Not my day

Only good news is my back, which is killing me (or was before the drugs kicked in) is ok. They did X-rays and a CAT Scan. Diagnosis was a sprain or strain (forgot which...don't even know what the difference is).

Post accident resolution: No more Max

Not yet a proud papa. Soon to be, though. Thanks for asking. Good grief, but there's still a lot to do!

Haven't yet bought the Ovation. Truth be told I find myself with very little time for personal stuff. Between trading, a regular job, and getting ready for the baby I'm getting about 4 hours of sleep a night. And I love to read books, but I can't remember the last time I read anything longer than a Sunday paper - other than for work. ..All this when everyone tells me to get all the regular sleep I can now because I won't be having any for quite a long time after the baby arrives....No, methinks I shall be an admirer of guitarists and not one myself for quite a long while! Sounds like you've got quite the collection going, though! If you ever feel you have TOO MANY guitars, I'll send you my address!

Regarding Max, well, of course you've read my brief posts on the subject. Seriously, I think the both of you are far too intelligent to be wasting so much time on it. To be fair, I can understand how someone doubting such catastrophic events as you have described would make you very angry to say the least. Having said that, you need to remember that in this cyberworld, this anonymous Matrix we ETers correspond in, we need to adjust our vision goggles to see the true perspective. Max ridiculing you should, for all intensive purposes, annoy you about as much as the cute waitress at your favorite restaurant not giving you a blowjob on the way out for the generous tip you left. In cyberspace, you need to digest your intake not with a grain of salt, but an acre of the stuff.

Let it go, amigo. You've gotten your shots in. I hope you come to the conclusion that it just isn't worth it.

Whoa! Hey, glad to hear you're okay. Sounds fortunate that noone was in the passenger seat considering that entire side is gone. You're pretty darned lucky, you realize that don't you?!? Red light runner...damn!!

Now especially you need to RELAX and recuperate. Arguing with Max definitely will do you no good in those departments.

Be real careful what happens next, RS7. You will, in a best case scenario, need to get the Z4 totaled out and replaced. If you don't, you could wind up with a "gap" problem when the lease terminates if they knock the residual ACV down; particularly if there is frame damage (almost unavoidable in a uni-body car.)

If you have to have it fixed, it might behoove you to take money out of your own pocket to supplement the insurance and have it done right. Insurance companies pay the same hourly rate to fix whether it's a Ford or a Ferrari.
