What makes it so obvious that the wealthy individual poses no threat? Because he is wealthy or because he is a talk show host? Just curious.

I guess we should strip search all poor people who are not talk show hosts because they must be danger to the national security... :D

Sometimes the most unbelievable is possible, so I think the custom officials should not be taken to task for doing their jobs. They caught a big fat bigot with prescription drugs written in his doctor's name because of privacy... and this guy had been abusing drugs. So, they had the right to check his pills. Maybe those were those happy pills in a viagra bottle? They had to be sure because they knew that this scumbag was abusing prescription pills.

As for what was he doing with those blue pills... that is a different question. Because he is an arch conservative, he surely was not humping those latina chicas for a few pesos out there... that would be morally wrong. However, I think there are some goats and some cows about whom, if the PETA knew about would have created another ruckus.

Rush indicates that the prescription Viagra he was "caught with" was in his physician's name so as to protect his privacy.

Thats all I know about it.

Seems to me that if he is telling the truth, it will be pretty easy to figure it out. If not, I think he ought to be treated just like any other person with a drug problem.

Notice the deep regard they have for civil rights being violated. Limbaugh has done nothing illegal. The partisan lunatic who was pursuing Limbaugh hand over fist admitted in court he could prove nothing, and offered to drop the charges if Limbaugh stays out of trouble for 18 months.

Which he had prior to the deal.

Then they find some Viagra that is legally his, ordered by his doctor. Of course, the left throws a gala festival about it, being the loser so many times. They were sure more times than you can count that this time they had Rove and maybe Cheney and maybe even Bush, but it never panned out. Guess what else won't pan out? This Rush thing.

Yes, and I'd say that's a pretty serious crime. I think he should be given a five year prison sentence at a minimum... for the children!

You know what? Seeing as this is his second offense, I'd say he deserves at least twenty years behind bars, combined with a complete forfeiture of all financial assets. That would send the right message to all the 'white junkies' out there.

You know what this is REALLY about? Rush's beloved prohibition laws almost killed me a couple years back, so now I'd really like to see some heavy-handed payback.

I find it very odd that a customs inspector would double check the names on a pill container, then call the sheriff's office when they didn't match. I'm guessing that say, Bill Clinton wouldn;t get the same level of scrutiny in Palm Beach. I'm not aware of any law requiring you to keep the pills in the original container from the pharmacy anyway. You could put them in a paper bag, as long as you obtained them legally, which no doubt will prove to be the case here.

I'd suggest the Bush administration should transfer this over-zealous customs inspector to somewhere he could apply his zealousness, like maybe the Tiajuana border. As for Rush, my advice to him is to sell his place in Palm Beach and move to Charleston or Hilton Head, someplace he will be more appreciated. Obviously Palm Beach County is a rich, liberal version of a redneck speedtrap town.
