Running up for no reason

Quote from trajecto:

How do you interpret stocks that shoot up on tons of volume for no apparent reason? I am just starting to use trade-ideas and checking out the running up alerts. One for example today would be: EGHT

Is this smart money? how would the seasoned guys interpret/play something like this? I'm not buying it but it sure looks tempting.

Jeff Cooper has a saying," Stocks don't move, they are moved."

What looks like big volume on this dollar stock is a couple of hundred thousand dollars total. The reasons for this volume "spike" and price jump could be many and varied, but heavy mutual fund buying is not likely one of them. Few funds mess with dollar stocks. More logical reasons might be some pump and dump scheme designed to put the name on various scanners, front running by insiders, rumors or a legitimate corporate announcement. One thing's certain, someone knows a lot more than you do and they aren't likely to give you a headsup before they sell.

I just noticed a change to Trade-Ideas' home page. They seem to change or tinker with it creatively

What does everyone think about their Home Page?

Most of the last 12 months candlechart EGHT hasnt cleared the smart money barrier of $ 5.oo;
''smart money.com'' noted 52 week low of $00.17.:cool:

Trajecto;
Might want to play something with a trajectory not so much under $5.oo ;
some institutional smart money wouldnt buy that one long or buy it to cover short.
