Yeah a 40lb kitten trying to eat him. What would you do, feed it a couple of fingers? And maybe it'll go away...
I don't see the big story here. even when it was initial reported the authorities stated it was a juvenile cat; the guy who was attacked stated at the time it was not full grown.

Watch the video, he had about 20 stitches to close gashes on his face and many puncture wounds. No time to pet a 40lb mountain lion kitten with his teeth puncturing your arm, that is for all the critics to do from their lazy boy recliner.
Well bobcats are "only" 30-40 lbs full grown. Who'd be crazy enough to try to choke out one of those? News writers these dayz...
