How about the obvious. The WMD, we did find, we gave them when Sadam was our buddy ( to fight against Iran). Then he used it against the Kurds, when we said we would back them, against a revolution after Gulf 1, and then changed our minds and left them twisting in the poison gas winds.

Exactly. And, as you're saying, Bush senior had encouraged the Kurds to rise up against Sadam and said we'd back them up. But when they did we were nowhere to be found and they paid the ultimate price.
