I think this puts an end to the Neo-Con hegemonic agenda, good riddance. Rummy deserves everything bit of criticism he is getting. Contrary to what he says it is quite clear it was his insistence on going to Iraq on the cheap and underarmed and undermanned and then refused to change course. It is even more clear the men in the military don't care for him.

I guess this is what happens when you put a civilian in charge of fighting wars. History will not be kind to him, but for some reason I almost feel sorry for him.

The military victory was brilliant and swift, it was the after victory guerrilla warfare that created the stalemate. There are few answers to guerrilla warfare and to some extent Rumsfeld should not be blamed for Iraq mess, although he was one of the top 5 neo-cons who loudly supported and engineered the invasion in 2003. I think Rumsfeld in actuality is a good manager of handling tough situations.
 
The war was won about 3 weeks after we started it. Rumsfield got that very right.

But controlling those madpersons thereafter? Remember, Sadam had to use mass graves and posion gas.

i am sick to death of people calling the rape of iraq a "war." it was no more a war than the one the poles fought against army group B. Simply disgusting !

He has wanted to leave since 2004. This is mainstream news, notated in today's articles.

So him finally "resigning" is nothing more but throwing a bone to the public while the charade goes on.

Now if Cheney was to resign, that's someone getting kicked out. Only way this POS will leave is due to health problems.
