Rule of 10 Journal

Quote from Now is Now:

Adjusting my stop to 80.50...to cover any end of day push..although not inclined to think it will happen...would like a profit on the 1/3 after having to settle for low profits earlier.

I can now put away the McDonald's coupons:p

No Shampaine yet?

I'm curious are we just limited to post R10 trades only? or any ES trades???

There is another ES Journal for that purpose.

From the 1285.25 high in the morning, the afternoon low was 1276.25, 9 points, well, almost...
Overnight short entry is 1286.25, the long is 1274.5...

That journal is a joke. too many opinions and very little entries!there are very few real trades that go on their. But i guess if you insist I will just limit my entries here to R10 trades.

it's kind of interesting to me that volente noted 6 to 6.5 pts on profits, and the first leg down from the AH H today was 6 points.

Now is Now,
did you wait for a failure swing to put on that short?

how many 6 point retracements happened on this trend move ?

Notice what the ma's show

red above and parallel to blue for 7 hours without a cross.

Maybe this pm I got will clear the ma confusion up.

"I think I understand how you use the 9 & 18 crossovers. If there are many crossovers, then its a chop day. If there are few then its a trend day. You would then stay away from going against trends and if you catch a r10 in a retracement, trail the stop and hope to catch a big move (+20 to +30) "

Or enter trades that coincides with R10 signals :P

Not a bad day overall, but I didn't *feel* it, so no trades. Heck, wondering if I should wait till after labor day too.

Btw are we using the absolute high/low or the ones at close?
My high shows 1285.25 @ 12:45-1:00pm and 1276.25 low @ 3:45-4:00

Also, if there's another lower reaction high (1283 @ 4:00-4:15), it invalidates the previous, higher, reaction high? (and vice-versa for the lows)

Hey, I warned you guys, currently at 84.50...

Anyway, I don't want to takeover Jagmot's journal, I just want to show that the R10 is just the entry and you have to use other indicators/strategies to get you out of the position.
Also it is kind of interesting to compare which version makes more profits. On Tuesday when I got out with 4 pts he would have got the full 10 pts gain eventually, but this morning my other 4 pts gain exit was better than his ending up with a -3 loss.

No worries, I consider it everyones journal. I just wanted to start a journal for discussion on R10 and different ways to trade it. Its been interesting so far.

I would be curious on how your trades are going, ie like winning percentage and avg profit per contract. I plan on posting the same. I'll be posting more on Tuesday when I go live in my backup account, InfinityAT.

I don't mind go ahead for now. If it gets to be too much, we may as a board collectively to not allow it. I post my trades on ES journal when I can but I trade a lot of markets that sometimes I'm too busy to post.

Here, I will only be posting R10 trades and any I miss or can't call live will be shown on my statement screenshot (which is also why I'm using my backup account / a clean account).

Hey Jagmot,

I would not be worried about missing any live calls on this thread...your first proirity is to your trading account and activity ...everything else is a distant second...

I think we,collectively, have good handle on the expected trade and it is likely it will be posted in advance as we are doing now...should it differ from your expectations then you can comment at your convenience.

Thanks! In terms of my entries I generally only trade between 10:00am to 12:00pm most of the time. Most of my trades are very similar to the R10 anyway.
