Rule of 10 Journal

Next long is 65.25...Just got hit...

Edit: I was tempted to take the 3 pts gain we quickly advanced to and it dropped back to entry from there...

I would have thought the entry was either 65.75 or 62.00, depending on where you calculated the R10 from.

How did you get 65.25?

Pure luck

LOL. I thought this was a good trade. Partial retracement of yesterdays decline, 10+ points off the low.....the only thing wrong is that it was on the wrong side of your moving averages.

My bad, it was from 1275.75 so this one is the correct one...

I will bring up the SL to 1266, just in case...

Edit: Out at basicly breakeven...

I thought it would have been 75.75-10=65.75 under the "hard 10 rule" and you would be still alive with an adjusted stop or with multiple contracts you take your 3 just now( 68.75 mit) .

2 full stop outs in a row and I'm done for the day. I won't place a new trade until 1 hour after the previous close (2:15PM EST). 2 stop outs in a row should also happen less frequently as I'm now using a 5pt target and trailing stop (once the first target is hit).

What's the 2:15EST? Close is 4:15 EST...maybe I'm missing something.

Good luck with it.

I guess we missed taking profits of 3 pts twice, but at least we didn't lose 3 pts. Next long would be 1262....

Also, Jagmot would have got his full 10 pts gain from the 73.25 short....

He is on West Coast waiting for an earthquake....probably meant 1:15 PST not 2:15 PST...

Good luck , Jagmot....

I don't know who your broker is, but there should be a facility to assist you with your either/or trades that cancels the other side when hit...

I don't think your lines show anything different than any other day.

Quote from volente_00:

The lines today show a chop day. Surely you see the difference between today's versus the trend days behavior. This is not rocket science.

So was today a chop or trend day ? Were the ma's right predicting the chop that they said early this morning ?
