Rule of 10 Journal

Dumped other 1/3 @88.75...3.75 point profit on a SELL signal....now will wait for next signal....
This is really starting to gel...maybe today is too good to be true...so I went back through the week and was surprised at the correlation of my signals to the "hard 10 " entries et al...my signal seems to lag by approximately 1.5 to 2.5 points behind...if confirmed...it sure as hell stopped some "stops", because of the lag.
Basically, the 10 point profit goal is an ideal target,but has not the same "influence" as the correct entry point related the 10 (9-11).
It seems we are of like mind to protect our profits, which will keep us around for along time....

Just remember, that when you take the smaller profits, it means the entry has to be that much better. Taking a 10 point profit means you only have to be right less than 1/3rd of the time.

I agree, however if the it is "written' that we can have a 10 point profit...great, and I allow (hope) for that , but I am very happy that my exposure has been covered.
I have always been a stickler on allocation of risk....and the sooner I am able to "free wheel" the balance the happier I will be.
By the way, , prior to aligning the "rule of 10 " trade to my trades..I had been stopped twice...so all was NOT perfect this morning.

I have to say I am certainly with you on this method. But correct me if you can. Old trader kind of thru me with the comment of Jagmot not getting out and still in because he didn't get his ten yet. I have been under the impression that you measure from the high and since 94 was the high the reentry for the long was 84.
After all just because his short was entered after the 10 points doesn't make it necessary to be out only after you get your ten points. Yes or NO? After all if your not stopped out even after a newer high occurs you still count from the high and not the entry.
For me this Journal hits a positive note. Jagmot - Volente and the rest of you great Job on your positive involvement.
