During an interview with Donald Trumpsupporter OmarosaManigualt on MSNBC, Thomas Roberts interrupted the former reality star (Omarosa, not Trump) to cut to some breaking news. Marco Rubio had reappeared on Capitol Hill after dropping from the presidential race two days ago and he was addressing reporters there.

It’s only been three years since Rubio’s image was plastered to the cover of TIME beneath heavy yellow lettering that read, “THE REPUBLICAN SAVIOR.” Much has been written about the high hopes the GOP had for the young “Marquito,” but his announcement today drove a stake through the idea of a glorious Rubio-led resurrection once and for all.

Appearing to choke back a tear or two, Rubio said the following:

I’m not gonna be anybody’s Vice President. I’m not interested in being Vice President. I don’t mean that in a disrespectful way. I’m not gonna be Vice President; I’m not running for Governor of Florida. I’m gonna finish out my term in the Senate and over the next ten months we are going to work really hard here — we have some things we want to achieve — and then I’ll be a private citizen in January.

When a reporter asked for clarification, he said, “No. No, I’m not running for reelection to the Senate.”

When asked about the possibility of a contested convention, he let out a dry laugh, then reminded the reporters that his campaign ended less than 48 hours ago, so he hadn’t given it a lot of thought. When another reporter asked about Trump’s comments on possible rioting at such a convention, Rubio said, “You don’t have to scream.” He smiled, but it looked like he wiped at his eye.

Watch above to see Rubio discuss his belief that books will be written about this particular campaign season and to hear his response when asked if he might be the one doing the writing.

oh well, it's a business. And I don't fault a man for his business if he doesn't fault me for mine.

He stabbed the tea party in the back as soon as he was elected and there was an article out last week explaining how he couldn't get any major politicos in Fla last week to endorse him or say anything good about him because he had stabbed all of them in the back right after they helped him.

So the good thing about this is that after these establishment type of organizations hire him, he's very likely to stab them in the back and then justice will be served for all.

He'll be a good lobbyist, very articulate and likeable. He'll play the game, but you could also see he had a decent streak.

that is really odd. I know he has had financial problems.
maybe he is going to a kickback from all the money he paid to consultants the day he joins the private sector.

How Lobbying Obscured the Danger of Lead in Water

"
First, it was Flint, Michigan. Now, Jackson, Mississippi, has raised the alarm that lead levels in its drinking water may exceed public health standards. These revelations have led to finger pointing, most notably in Flint, where health officials, regulators and politicians ignored warning signs of a looming crisis.

Yet this disaster has far deeper roots. Although the potential dangers have been common knowledge for a century and half, lead pipes remained a popular choice in cities until quite recently, thanks to public ignorance, bureaucratic incompetence
and, above all, industry pressure.

Despite its toxicity, lead has many advantages when it comes to water pipes. It’s easy to form, shape and solder, and is remarkably durable, unlike iron. Unfortunately, under certain conditions, it leaches into the water, and is an insidious toxin, accumulating in victims over months and years. By the time symptoms manifest themselves, it’s often too late to reverse the damage.

Lead poisoning had been described as early as antiquity, but lead pipes became common during the Industrial Revolution, when growing cities in England and the U.S. needed a way to funnel clean drinking water. By the 1850s, though, scientists began fingering water pipes as the source of a growing number of lead poisoning cases...
