I wouldn’t be so disrespectful but Alabama ain’t exactly a model of a thriving state either. They are depressed economically and corrupted politically because they are so ideologically conservative. The previous governor left on scandal, the speaker of the House is waiting sentencing on 13 charges and the former Chief Justice was removed from the bench twice and now he is the nominee for senate with charges of targeting minors for romantic relationships.
You know what, yeah, Alabama is backwards.
Yes... I agree with you that Southern states have issues with political corruption and other scandals. however they are no different than Northern states -- shall we go through all the corruption scandals and convictions in N.J., NY, Connecticut, and Mass?
I can hardly be called a Moore supporter. However the continual "moral superiority" attitude from exGOPer and others in regards to Southern states has reached the point of abusive absurdity.... and it is time to call out the reality. Southern states have better race relations, more diverse neighborhoods & schools, stronger cross-religious relationships (Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, etc.), higher minority university graduation rates (remember most of the HCBUs are here), and more minority people serving in government (per % of the population) than their Northern counterparts.
