I think the election of Trump was the defining moment in America’s relinquishment of its stature as a world leader.

Ignoring the rest of the world, the fact that citizens thought a lying, criminal, unread, con man should be King, not just POTUS, exposes just how fragile our democracy is.

And since those that thought Trump was a great idea, will vote in future elections; this problem will not be solved just by Trump's departure.

Hopefully, some have now, finally, seen the error and danger of their ways.

It seems for a very few today was the last straw. A few seem to be breaking rank now. The Republicans have become pathetic. This is unfortunate. So long as we have an Electoral College we will be stuck with a two party political system. Therefore we need two viable strong political parties, each to hold the others feet to the fire.

Left to their own devises, the parties will only debate on how to divide the "pie" up amongst themselves.
