Quote from Larson:

all that crap I learned in University regarding monetary and macro-theory is being rewritten today, due to the buttheads
running US gov't for the last decade and a half. Jim Sinclair calls it a revtalized gold reserve certificate. You are reading material from all the failed economists models that helped get us in this mess. wake up.

Apparently the whole planet read that material. There are probably more truthers than there are golders. Not that I like using argument ad populum, but in this case it is overwhelming.

So then explain whhy the Gold standard is wrong..... Surely you have a case for this.

It's a straight-jacket made of tissue paper.

This does not constitute an explanation...... Surely one of you 2 guys has a reason as to why pritinng dollars, and inflatincg prices is a good thing, please tell me why the gold standard is such a horrible thing..... I just lobbed you a softball......

I asked you a related question much earlier. Why do you think we wouldn't just print gold certificates, instead of printing dollars?

Surely they could.... but at that point its FRAUD as opposed to business as usual at the fed.

Fair enough. But at least you understand the "tissue paper" side of my metaphor (which you did already no doubt).

Quote from olias:

"We can now add not ordering the raid on bin Laden's compound to the list of other Ron Paul positions that make him unelectable. By our count that includes:

-eliminating the Department of Education (and most federal agencies for that matter)
-immediately withdrawing from Iraq and Afghanistan (that won't fly in a GOP primary)
-withdrawing from NATO and the UN
-opposing the Civil Rights Act of 1964
-eliminating the Federal Reserve System (maybe not an unelectable position but a tough sell).

But the fact that Paul consistently says what he believes and acts on it, has its own appeal for his supporters. So buckle up Republicans, we're expecting plenty more moments like this as he takes off on the campaign trail"

I didn't realize until now I had so much in common with Ron Paul.

Tired today?
Busy, and I see other than your graciously provided link no one is able or willing to give a simple concise answer to my question. That alone gives me doubts that the gold standard would be a "problem" for anyone, other than big central government tax and spend socialists of course.
