Ron Paul AMAZING!

Quote from Cache Landing:

I wasn't implying that he would be willing to do it, just that I think it would be a good situation. Having him in as VP would also lengthen the amount of time that he might be able to influence things. Think about him getting into office as VP and building more support amongst the people who matter. Then he has the option of running for president again if he'd like.

It seems like he is completely different than the other candidates because people emphisize the differences. Those differences account for only a portion of the many conservative opinions that each candidate holds. In any case, the fact that he is unwilling to compromise is precisely why he won't get elected. And if he did, nothing he wanted would go through. It would be complete gridlock.

Why would he compromise on 10 years of work in congress? That's called flip flopping and he would be just another candidate running for office. Ron Paul is diffrent in a good way, and his record shows it.

I personally think that flip-flopping is an over-used term and people don't even know what it means. Flip-flopping and compromising aren't the same thing.

Compromising means being able to identify and prioritize the issues to the extent that at least the most important aspects are accomplished. Gridlock is the opposite of compromise unless a single party controls all three branches.

Flip-flopping is changing opinion simply to comply with popular opinion regardless of personal opinion or mind altering evidence. Anyone is allowed to change his opinion as additional knowledge is gained, and I respect those who do. I also respect those who have the ability to see both sides and work toward progress.

Quote from Hansel H:

Yep.. No question. Paul said if a GOP presidential candidate endorsed Paul's policies he'd "certainly consider it " - 'it' being VP candidacy.

Well I guess we're both right then. He'll consider it if any of the GOP candidates endorse his policies, but none of them do (or will) so he wont consider it.

You were more directly right than that because he stated that he wouldn't run with any of the current candidates given their present platforms. He was considering a purely hypothetical candidate to indicate that there are circumstances in which he'd settle for VP.

Incidentally, Pat Robertson just endorsed social liberal Rudy G. It's a strange marriage but Robertson's position is anybody but a Dem. If Robertson brings the religious right with him ( as is assumed by the media ) Ron Paul's chances will be severely compromised.

This graph represents a trend which is possibly going to go parabolic. This is at a time while the Ron Paul contributions are gaining momentum - and he hasn't spent but a fraction of it.

People that are spending the time online to find out about a candidate are very likely to be heading to the polls. I expect the young voter turnout for this primary to be extremely high.
