The most interesting thing would be if Romney decided to stroke Huck's ego a bit and enter negotiations to run as Huck's VP if he throws his support that way.

The only reason Huck is trailing Mac is because Mitt commanded a ton of the conservative vote. Even with Mitt's support I'm not sure he could stop Mac, but that would be an interesting dynamic.

There's been a lot of talk about Huck simply staying in to help Mac. Mitt's endorsement and delegates would put Huck within striking distance of Mac and we'd really figure out how good of friends Mac and Huck are.

Not gonna happen, but I would love it if it did.:D

That may be true, but the message Mitt needs to take away from this is that you can't win in a 7-man race with all 6 other candidates hating you.

If every state received a number of delegates proportionate to the number of electorates in the general, and the system simply allocated delegates proportionately based on % of popular vote in each state, then Mitt would only be trailing by a very small margin. As the system stands he got edged out in a few crucial winner-take-all states and came out without a single delegate. He should also consider this idea. Even if he had beaten Mac by a bit on Tuesday, Huck could've aligned behind Mac and launched him into the lead. Same concept as West Virginia but on a national scale.

It is possible to disagree with people without causing them to hate you. Mitt should take lessons in that before running again in 4 years.

Yes I've donated to a republican candidate before, but I'm no longer on any phone list. That was a land line and I no longer have a land line.

I'm also unaffiliated politically too, so I don't see myself getting on any lists again. My political parties have abondoned me so I support individual candidates only now.
 
Romney certainly looked viable initially. i wonder how much the media spin hurt his chances. and it seemed that all the other candidates were dead set against Romney. his qualifications were there, at least compared to the others.
 
Why would I vote republican now? I did entertain the idea based primarily on the immigration issue but let's face it, the republican party has given us the Reagan amnesty, pro-amnesty GWB and now John McAmnesty.

If a legalization of millions of illegals is inevitable I'd rather it come with Universal Healthcare, a crackdown on one-sided free trade agreements and outsourcing, withdrawal from Iraq and balanced budget, the things that can only come from the democrats.

Besides something tells me that the republicans in congress will fight amnesty tooth and nail if it's supported by a democratic president, they'll be far less enthusiastic if president shoving it down our throats is from their own party.
