One must distinguish between regulating the manufacturing or porn and regulating the distribution of porn. The two are completely separate.
If all parties involved in making it are both physically and mentally capable of willing participation during production (which obviously does not apply to juveniles or mentally disabled people, or even victims of hidden cameras), then federal regulation is unnecessary, and states should make their own laws regarding prevalence and location.
But when it comes to distribution, specific regulation is desirable.
