I think Romney can win if he really hammers home the point how much lower standards of living will be if Obama wins a 2nd term.

No more pussyfooting around. All out attack. Make it clear that socialist programs like the single payer universal healthcare system or more benefits to join the "league of civilized nations" as the democrats always like to call it is a pathway to disaster.

People have to understand that every European nation of any decently large population size that has an extensive socialist welfare net has a lower GDP per capita, adjusted for PPP than the United States. Some like Spain are just downright abysmal.

they wouldn't need it because they won't have entitlements gone wild, plus there would be a mass exodus of the productive from NY and Cali etc to the red states. If you live within your means you can't blow up. We have the most means here in the US but our govt refuses to exist within them.

But if your choice is lower standards for the other guy vs. gov't assistance, the gov't parasite will ALWAYS vote liberal. You assume that they actually care about the macro picture. Most of these folks are either on permanent assistance or economic losers who can't compete in any economy.
